beautiful and affordable

We had our costumed Halloween wedding reception at Second Unitarian, and it was the perfect venue for us.

The admin Kate was very friendly and responsive, and best of all, she was totally cool about rescheduling our reception to an entire year later because of covid. I also found the venue extremely affordable for its size and how nice it is; of the three we saw it was the cheapest but also our favorite.

In terms of the space itself, the beautiful church windows lend a gothic aesthetic and look great for any wedding (especially a Halloween one). We had about 100 people and that number comfortably fit in the sanctuary seated at long rows of tables.

I'm very glad we found this venue, and would recommend it to anyone.

Charming, affordable, low restriction venue

Kate is wonderful to work with, easy to get ahold of, very responsive. Date availability is good, they are flexible. There aren't so many restrictions (you can bring your own caterer or make food in the kitchen, bring-in your own drinks) and they have tables and chairs you can use in-house for no cost (just got to get covers / linens!). They also have wonderful staff who set-up the tables / chairs and break them down after according to whatever layout you provide for them. They do have a sound system and mics for vows / speeches. There is a grand piano on both floors. We used the upstairs loft for the ceremony (lots of natural light) and the downstairs for the dinner, live music and dancing! The floors are not waxed and hardwood, which is excellent for swing-dancers! Rooms downstairs to get ready in, and outdoor garden space in back for some extra photo opportunities. Just a beautiful place, wonderful staff, excellent pricing. Couldn't recommend them more!

Quaint historic building in great neighborhood- PERFECT FOR DIY

I've been to several weddings in this cute church. It has beautiful arts and crafts windows and charming light. The chairs can be arranged however you want and there's a full kitchen. My friends don't have a huge budget and this place allowed us to really do it ourselves. It was easy for folks to get to, too because it's walking distance from the Belmont el with the 151, 156, 36, 8 and 77 bus lines handy.
They have a nice upstairs loft and you can place the round tables any way you want to. The sexton was super helpful with the heavy lifting and the clean up. They make it really easy.
