SF City Hall is stunning. Our wedding guests were floored by the grandeur of the spectacular building. Upon hearing we were going to marry at city hall, they imagine a run of the mill courthouse. They were beyond surprised and impressed. We planned a wedding weekend culminating at our ceremony at city hall. I recommend the 4th floor gallery for early morning light. We married at 9am. It was the only slot available, which was fine with us. We were the first group. Be aware that the events department at city hall run a tight ship. there is no wiggle room if you are running late or don't pay on time. However, they are helpful and will walk you through all the details. Also city hall marriage license also expects you to have your stuff together and they carefully review your documents and if every I isn't dotted, you have to do it all over again. But like they are pleasant professionals and know what they're doing. I'm so glad we married there.
