I was so excited to have booked a garden venue, but I have to let you all know that working with the coordinators at Shangri-la was just terrible. I saw this other review saying that working with Mareen was amazing but her service to my fiancée and I was disastrous. Let me just sum it up like this:
Pros:
-beautiful space. : We used the white tent
-Cost:
- Mareen did call you back promptly when you left a message
now for the real review:
Cons:
- customer service: From Day 1 there was no warm welcome, no "congrats!" no " let me show you around" no " Hi! :)" . It was such a cold reception. At first I thought I was being sensitive and perhaps spoiled from my visits to so many venues, but to be quite honest it was pretty bad, my sweet and kind fiancee was even surprised and politely asked me " are you sure you really need that tent" which was his way of asking me " Why the F** do we have to work with those rude people!?" . my heart was set on a tent location and that was the only one available so I had no choice.
The staff's attitude didn't get any better as time went on and I just kept my mouth shut for fear of them sabotaging my wedding. Every time I asked a simple question i always felt as though I was a burden on them or that I was too demanding. I never felt reassured a single time and towards the wedding day , i really regretted booking this venue.
- day of coordination :oh God. what a disaster.
we had a buffet line and as you know, people come back for seconds or thirds. Well, the plates ran out and when my caterer requested the waiters to bring some more out; mareen came straight to ME ( the bride!! sitting at the head table) and tells me : " I'm sorry but there is max number of plates that you can use, please let your caterer know." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!..it ruined a good portion of my wedding day.my caterer and her team had to literally wash extra plates at their outdoor station so as to save dinner.
