Shaw House Weddings is a wedding venue in Newbury, West Berkshire. For the first time in the 500 year history of the house, it will be open for weddings and events. It is a 16th century grade I listed country house estate located less than 10 minutes off the M4, J13, near Newbury.
Shaw House has no shortage of history and charm and has hosted Queen Elizabeth I, King Charles II, and Queen Anne.
Facilities and Capacity
The house and grounds are immaculately kept for your wedding and events. The house has a Tudor brick exterior and 300-year-old oak staircase. Just outside the house are gardens, lawns, and ancient yew trees. The Queen Anne Ceremony Room is licenced for civil ceremonies up to 80 guests and the main hall for 120 guests. The Queen Anne room features a romantic window seat, great for wedding photos. Your reception can take place in the main hall and accommodate 80 seated guests or in an outdoor location to accommodate 200 guests. They can also accommodate larger celebrations with proper notice and planning.
