The greatest item someone could gift an about-to-be-married couple is a totally stress-free, fully enchanting wedding weekend, and Michelle Lee at Simply Events did just that for us in August 2015!

From ideation to venue shopping to vendor negotiations to final execution on the wedding weekend, Michelle delivered flawlessly. Michelle is honest, genuine, diplomatic, timely, and a true teammate. She can be as hands-on or hands-off as you'd like. I can't imagine anyone NOT getting along with Michelle! She carefully listened to our ideas and converted them into reality, all while remaining within our budget. She coordinated hand-in-hand with our wedding venue (The Holly Farm in Carmel, CA) for the entire year leading up to our wedding weekend and all of the associated vendors -- catering, floral, photographer/videographer, music, alcohol, hair & makeup, decorations, custom personalized items, and the other "little things" that made our wedding one-of-a kind.

As soon as I stepped onto the property for our wedding, I was completely at ease knowing Michelle had us covered. I was truly able to enjoy every moment, guest, laugh, tear (of joy) and, my husband, of course! Seriously, our wedding was a dream come true and I couldn't imagine having it any other way. So, thank you, Michelle, for partnering with us on our wedding adventure and for giving us the ultimate gift of complete happiness :)

Michelle made our wedding absolutely perfect and I cannot even imagine having tackled it without her. Michelle planned our wedding rehearsal dinner, wedding day ceremony and reception, AND our Sunday brunch in Sonoma. We thought the whole process was pretty low stress with Michelle’s guidance. Michelle made sure we stayed on task with the big items, and was also was quick to look into our whimsical ideas that we wanted to incorporate into the wedding (i.e., a smore pit, a freshly made donut stand, etc etc).
Michelle’s key strengths are 1) she is super organized – including making sure you’re on schedule picking the DJ, food, flowers…, keeping track of contracts and payments due to vendors (and staying on top of pesky unresponsive vendors), and has a whole timetable for everything going on during wedding day 2) she is a good bargainer and was often able to get us additional discounts or fees waived, 3) she knows the Bay area wedding vendors – we almost always picked the first vendor she suggested which saved us a ton of time, 4) she is very professional – Michelle was the one interacting with and coordinating most of our vendors, and they all had great things to say about her too, and 5) she is really good at listening to what you want and coming up with creative ways to make it happen. Once she gets to know you, she will also suggest other ideas, websites, inspiration photos etc to help with the nitty gritty details of your wedding (like cute ways to do table numbers, places we could get customized stickers, and fun local vendors we could include if we wanted).
We absolutely loved working with Michelle, and highly recommend her to anyone interested in a wedding planner for a Bay area wedding.

Michelle is awesome! She was able to make the entire wedding planning process manageable and even enjoyable. She proved to be an invaluable resource in terms of advice, ideas, logistics, and taking care of all the details that we were either too busy or too indifferent to deal with ourselves. We had no idea where to start planning, and she helped with everything from the brainstorming to the execution (including getting one of our favorite boba stores to provide pre-ceremony drinks and finding a cake baker who could make us a sculpted cake with a penguin and polar bear climbing a mountain). Knowing that Michelle was taking care of things like negotiating contracts, coordinating deliveries, making payments, and confirming vendors let us focus on more important things on the days (and months) leading up to our wedding. It was a huge relief knowing that all we had to do was voice a concern, request, etc, and she would take care of it.

Day-of, Michelle made sure everything ran smoothly. The wedding was at my parents' house, and she arrived early to receive the deliveries, supervise set up, and take care of all the last-minute details. Pre-ceremony, she corralled our family members for the processional and made sure the guests were seated. During the reception, she kept everything on schedule and even dealt with my family's blind dog getting stuck in a sticky mouse trap. Afterwards, she was the last to leave, making sure everything was cleaned up properly and that there were no outstanding issues to be taken care of. In addition, knowing how you often don't have time to enjoy all the delicious food you pick out for your own wedding, she put aside a sampling of all of our food (including our dessert spread) for us to enjoy the next day.

Michelle is amazing, and I would highly recommend her event planning services to anyone.

If Michelle ever sits down, I have yet to see this occurrence. Do I love her because she brought me goodies made by her aunt in Singapore on one visit or because she lovingly made tasty cake pops and cookies by her own hand the day she appeared for her first day of work over the course of a 4-day wedding extravaganza here? Yes. Now that I've got your attention, I must share that I've heard rumors that Michelle continues to reply to email even atop Machu Pichu. She may even be known to go running before a 15-hour workday. :) If there are any words I can share that haven't already been well-explored in the extremely accurate reviews here, it's that Michelle is going to be here for you. Or there for you. And you may never know this but she IS emailing on your behalf even while traveling in Peru! ;) Now I'll share something else. I am a wedding coordinator, in a family of wedding coordinators, 24 years strong into private wedding estate at The Holly Farm. I work alongside another very skilled wedding coordinator at our business and from the moment guests arrive we all mean to take the best care of our clients that is humanly possible. That's the way we roll. When Michelle came on property for her clients' stay, all of us were ready to lend a hand in order to ensure that the bride and groom's time here would be the most fantastic that ever was. Hospitality is our passion and Michelle also lives this passionately. She is detail-oriented, organized, thoughtful and hard-working. She arrived early (hallelujah!!!!), had her ducks in a row, was self-sufficient, caring and generous. Michelle made sure that our couple had everything handled... and she quietly bustled about caring for many details both on and off-site for numerous nuanced and beautiful events. On the wedding day, it was no different. She remained engaged the entire time, she was here early and she stayed late. If you are looking for a planner, that's what you want. It takes a very hands-on approach to manage the however well-planned, zillions of little things that unfold in real life,as the day progresses. It's rare to find someone with such composure, who is likewise willing to learn and to be flexible. Michelle takes extreme pride in what she does and does not drop a ball. That's pretty darn fantastic.
