Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, St. Cecilia Music Center is a historic wedding venue. A 140-year-old setting, this music hall sits in the heart of the city’s downtown area and has a vibrant, memorable atmosphere. Event and facility director Carla Messing is on hand to help you make the most of this distinctive space. Both ceremony and reception are welcomed here, as well as pre-wedding gatherings and rehearsal dinners.
Facilities and Capacity
St. Cecilia Music Center welcomes ceremonies with up to 400 guests and receptions with up to 184 attendees. With four unique spaces to choose from, you are free to select the setting that best aligns with your vision. The Royce Auditorium, with a grand stage and 650 seats, is perfect for ceremonies and vow renewals with large guest lists. Elegant neutral tones and vintage light fixtures add to the unique charm and character of this room. The Wege Recital Hall, meanwhile, is suited for more intimate celebrations. Ceremonies and standing receptions held here can have 100 guests, while there is enough space for a seated banquet with 48 attendees. A raised platform in front of the windows is a natural focal point, perfect for your ceremony or the head table. This room also contains two grand pianos and a fireplace. The Dexter Ballroom embodies classic elegance with plentiful natural light, arches, and crisp, neutral tones. The music hall’s largest banquet space, it has its own restrooms, kitchen, and two Steinway grand pianos. Banquet tables and chairs are included with each of these spaces for added ease.
Services Offered
The team at St. Cecilia Music Center is happy to take care of setting up your space before the day begins, and clearing everything away when the last guest leaves. They have an extensive list of caterers that will complement your celebration. There is some onsite parking, with plenty of other parking lots within walking distance of the hall. Audio equipment and lighting facilities are available to enhance both the ceremony and reception. A wheelchair-accessible property, an elevator is available to take you and your guests to event spaces on the upper floors.
