History
St. John Church was organized in 1846 by a group of German settlers, first meeting in local schoolhouses and private homes before receiving its first parsonage just a half-mile from the church’s current site. The church’s present site was acquired 1867 upon the expansion of the church, and has seen much renovation and modernization while still maintaining the church’s historic structure.
