I love fruit and my husband loves sweets, Lucille made us the perfect combination for our wedding. A three tier naked chocolate cake with blue berry filling and honey buttercream! It was spectacular! She came highly recommended and with good reason. Lucille was very pleasant, effficant and true to the name, Sweet! I would recommend her to everyone.

Lucille Kelley of Sweet Lucille's Desserts is simply out of this world! Lucille made a few items for us so I will review each one separately.

At my bridal shower, Lucille made mint chocolate cake pops with a white chocolate and crushed candy cane coating (one of my favorites!). Each was wrapped in pretty ribbon matching my wedding colors. They were similar to the cake pops available at Starbucks only miles and miles better. The cake was moist and rich and the overall taste was just the perfect blend of mint and chocolate.

For our wedding favors, I asked Lucille to recreate an old family recipe from my Great Grandmother (a sugar cookie that we traditionally bake for special occasions); she not only replicated the recipe but possibly even made them better (sorry Great Grammy Ann!). The cookies were just soft enough, crumbly and delicious. She then packaged all of the cookies individually with tea bags and color coordinated labels and wrappings. Our guests kept raving about them.

Interesting note: Lucille has also done pastry demonstrations for parties (specifically, she did this for my best friend's bridal shower). She arrived with pre-baked cupcakes, icing and toppings and discuss different techniques and tips for making the perfect cupcake. It was fun for everyone and then we all got to take home a sweet little treat (Though this was not my wedding, I felt important to mention it because it was such fun and a very clever idea!)

In addition to the above mentioned desserts I can also tell you that any of her delectable pastries is absolutely worth trying and seriously considering for your own favors or wedding cake. I've had her carrot cake, lemon cream cake, almond cake, brownies, various cookies and chocolate cake... every bite is unforgettably good.

She is personally a pleasure to speak to and work with. Her passion and joy for baking is literally palpable. She always took time to discuss my ideas and and her prices were always fair and reasonable. And, most importantly, Lucille created incredible desserts that people are STILL talking about.
