About

Swiss Alp Hall & Chalet is a dance hall-style wedding venue located in Schulenburg, Texas. This destination is centrally located between San Antonio, Houston, and Austin. The hall itself was built in 1900 and was then subsequently purchased by Henry Tietjen in 1933 when he moved his family from Rutersville. After moving to the property, Henry and his family began to expand the hall. This continued as the years passed by and Swiss Alp Hall & Chalet eventually became a popular site for concerts, performers, and bands. The walls in this venue have reverberated the acoustics of German brass and polka bands, country artists, and innovative rock-and-roll performers.

Facilities and Capacity

Swiss Alp Hall & Chalet is painted with red, white, and blue, proudly showing off its heritage. Its interior is built from paneled wood and structured beams. This adds a charming rustic element to the hall and compliments the expertly crafted bar which is available to serve drinks to couples and their guests. Sliding barn doors create a grand entrance for any event, and also provide a gorgeous backdrop for photos. A path that leads from the hall is an ideal space for activities such as sparkler exits or coordinated entries.

Services Offered

Swiss Alp Hall & Chalet is pleased to provide their clients with dedicated services in order to curate the wedding event of their dreams. They offer a selection of tables, chairs, lights, and more for rental options. Swiss Alp Hall & Chalet also offers setup services for events as well as bartending staff. For the convenience of couples and their guests, parking is available on the property and the hall is wheelchair accessible.

Location

Swiss Alp Hall & Chalet is located between San Antonino, Houston, and Austin. The property is accessed off of Highway 77, via Interstate 10. The town of Schulenburg is directly north of the site. Here, visitors will be able to enjoy the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum, the Texas Polka Music Museum, and various public parks. There is also accommodation located within the urban center, presenting easy options for nearby overnight accommodation.

The perfect venue for us.

There was enough room for our 300 guest but I wouldn't recommend a larger group for that hall. Beautiful hall! Ron and DeLisa have done a fabulous job restoring the old charm of swiss alp. They were extremely accommodating to our questions and needs and wonderful to work with.
