What it was known as a beautiful cistercian monastery is today a special hamlet on a hilltop, where all of the interiors and exteriors have been furnished with particular care combining ancient furnishings and accessories following Tuscan tradition. So after the wedding party, your guest will be able to relax and get in touch with a real touch of Tuscany,
Thanks to its location, you will be able to celebrate your civil ceremony in San Galgano, by the Abbey of San Galgano, the very well know “abbey without the roof” or, if you are looking for a religious one, you can have the religious ceremony in The Montesiepi Chapel, where the “sword in the rock” sits.

Perfect wedding venue
The venue, the location and the view is incredibly beautiful and charming. Gini, the owner, was our wedding planner and she is amazing! In the year leading up to our wedding she was always replying quickly to emails and we connected on Skype several times. She had connections to vendors in the area and helped us find options that fit both our dreams and our budget!
Most of our guests stayed at Papena for the weekend and everyone though the place was great. Nice rooms, gorgeous pool and so many cute dogs! It was wonderful having everyone gathered in the same place for the whole wedding weekend.
Thank you Gini for helping us create our dream wedding! Tenuta di Papena will forever hold a special place in our hearts ❤️
Fantastic pizza and pasta wedding party
the courtyard gave it all an unbelievable cosy and romantic atmosphere while our guests enjoyed their Pizza and Pasta - also our outside party was amazing enjoying the surroundings and atmosphere. Also our guests that stayed at Tenuta di Papena for a couple of days simply loved it. Tenuta di Papena is the perfect place for a country yet stylish wedding in Tuscany. It is located few minutes from the famous Abbazia di San Galgano where you can solemnize a civil wedding in a roofless charming cathedral. The Tenuta is managed by the nicest people and can accommodate weddings regardless the weather for at least the capacity of the tenuta and up to around 50-60 people without need to rent a marquee in case of rain. The view from there is spectacular and the courtyard with the well is the perfect setting for the most typical wedding in Tuscany. I strongly recommend the Tenuta for intimate, classy and yet rustic weddings. Brava Ginevra!!!
