History

Beginning in the 1880s, the historic neighborhood surrounding 13th street, known as "Little Bohemia," was home to a very concentrated population of Czech immigrants. Landmarks such as The Prague Hotel, Bohemian Cafe, Sokol Auditorium, and St. Wenceslaus Church became valuable sources of inspiration for The Bohemia Gardens. Originally built in 1895, the venue originated as a Czechoslovakian dance hall before being converted into a popular restaurant and bar. In 1993, the property was purchased by an artist and home renovator who transformed the building again into what it is today.
