History
Glencoe Mill was built in the 1880’s, and was known as one of the world’s major manufacturers of plaid fabrics. The mill had been closed in the 1950’s and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, until restoration of the village began in 1979. The historic building was restored along with 38 other mill houses in the village, including the Textile Heritage museum and many others.
