The Daughtry House was built in 1870, shortly after the Civil War, and was home to some of Commerce's leading citizens, including a state governor. A prominent local merchant named Robert Leroy Daughtry resided there, and his daughter married in the front parlor of the house. A photo of the family from 1907 can be seen in the parlor, offering insight into how life was during his time.
