The Dirty Italian is a wedding catering business located in Boston, Massachusetts. When it comes to catering events, their grazing tables are the ideal choice to add color, elegance, and a touch of sophistication. Owner Talya Pessolano spent much of her childhood helping her family in the kitchen in their Springfield, Massachusetts home. She honed her skills in pairing wine and cheese and the art of display as a general manager of a local store before relocating to Boston. Before she left, the Frigo family gifted her the now-fan-favorite sandwich recipe, “Tanya’s Dirty Italian”, and the name of her business was born.

Talya grew up in Springfield, MA where she spent the majority of her time with her family in the kitchen. Her love for cooking grew when she started working at Frigo Foods in downtown Springfield. Talya became the youngest general manager at the downtown store front and quickly took on the challenge of being the catering events coordinator. She focused a lot of her energy on the displays throughout the store, specifically the cheese case where she gained the expertise of pairing gourmet cheeses with cured meats and fine wines. Before relocating to Boston, the Frigo family gave Talya a unique parting gift which has remained on their sandwich menu over the last decade, "Talya's Dirty Italian". The sandwich has become a customer favorite and kick started an inside joke with friends that led to the name of her small business.
Over the years, her love for catering grew as she became the go to friend that created platters for all of her friends life events; birthday parties, holiday get togethers, girls night, engagement parties, bridal & baby showers, and more. When the 2020 pandemic hit the USA, it became harder and harder to spend time with loved ones. Talya created "take home" platters that reignited small get togethers and created appreciation for specialty food pairings.
