About
Founded in 2013 by Nick Schauman, The Local Oyster started as a one-man traveling oyster bar catering backyard gathering, wedding receptions, cocktail parties and business functions. Our events have been customized to as small as 6 guests (true oyster lovers!) to festivals featuring 50K attendees!
After teaming up with Patrick Hudson of True Chesapeake Oyster Co, the two formed our first brick and mortar location at Mount Vernon Marketplace in downtown Baltimore (520 Park Avenue). We are the only oyster bar in Maryland to have their own oyster farm--growing 3 varieties including our "house" Skinny Dippers. In 2016, Baltimore Magazine awarded The Local Oyster "Best Seafood".
