History

Designed by architect Carl Werner, the Oakland Scottish Rite Center was built in 1927, with over 1,000 craftsmen working to complete its construction. Consisting of an ornate design, hand-carved ceilings, and majestic staircases, this art-deco building is one of the few of its kind that’s still in use. Since its opening, the venue has hosted a wide range of events, including birthday parties, corporate events, graduation ceremonies, presidential functions, state dinners, and more.
