History

The Catskill Game Farm was opened in 1933 - the first zoo in private ownership in the U.S. and also the largest. In its 73 years of operation, this facility housed more than 2,000 animals and drew tens of millions of visitors. This unique attraction was closed in 2006 but purchased in 2012, with The Old Game Farm Inn opening in 2019. Private investment arrived in 2020 along with grand plans for this historic setting.
