Facilities and Capacity

The Palms Playhouse is housed in the historic Winters Opera House, upstairs at 13 Main Street in downtown Winters. The Palms is available for wedding rentals, as well as local community events and arts education. The charming historical interior is well-suited for photo-perfect weddings, with high ceilings, exposed brick walls, a hardwood dance floor, and brass chandeliers. The bridal suite, which also serves as our band lounge on concert nights, features hundreds of signatures and drawings from bands who have played on our stage. You'll have fun looking through the names to find your favorite bands. Our helpful staff can assist with referrals to local caterers and vendors. The Palms Playhouse is a wheel-chair accessible venue.

Services Offered

Wedding events that can be hosted at The Palms Playhouse include engagement parties, elopements, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions. The starting site fee includes use of chairs, tables, linens, and a bridal suite. Additional wedding services include vendor referrals, setup, bar services, sound and lighting services, and cleanup. Liability insurance is available for all events. More audio equipment and furniture can be rented. Their rates vary depending on the day of the week, type of rental, and added services.

Other Services

In addition to weddings and musical acts, The Palms Playhouse is available to host other special events and celebrations, including arts education events, birthday parties, corporate events, charity functions, dance classes, and group functions.

History

The Palms Playhouse originated in an old South Davis barn in the late 1970s, and soon evolved into a superb live music venue. Regardless of dust or drafts, the old barn was regarded as ideal for acoustics and atmosphere. After 27 years in the old barn, The Palms Playhouse relocated in 2002 to the 19th-century Winters Opera House, nestled in the heart of downtown Winters. In 2016, longtime Palms owner Dave Fleming retired, and the current owners took the reins.
