We had our wedding at The River House on the Pedernales on June 10th, 2017. We could not have imagined a more perfect venue! Almost everyone who attended the wedding was from outside the Austin area (Maine, Michigan, New York, Houston, Dallas, etc.), so having accommodations for 50 people really allowed us to have a fun filled weekend! The grounds are absolutely stunning, the main house is amazing (hello dream kitchen and bathroom!), the cabins are nice and the event barn is a perfect mix of rustic elegance.
Melissa and Abby were so helpful and responsive to all of our questions. They truely are happy to help in any way they can.
We cannot say enough positive things about our experience!
Our friends and family have asked if we will renew our vows at The River House every year so they can keep coming back! :)

From the moment my husband and I drove through the gates, we knew the River House on the Pedernales would be the place where we would vow on forever together! The neighboring longhorns, gorgeous wildflower fields, and incredible views wow-ed our guests. The cabins are too cute and the main house/barn is perfectly placed on the property to allow access for day of getting-ready space. My husband and his boys, hiked, swam, and played football until it was time for pictures. My girls and I were able to relax in the main house, without any chance of my husband and I seeing each other before the big ceremony. All of my vendors (catering/flowers/band/cake,etc.) were able to set-up with ample space and were hidden away from guests to see them make the magic of the day come alive.

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with the staff at the venue and highly recommend the River House on the Pedernales to anyone looking to have a dream of a wedding!

The River House on the Pedernales was an absolute dream to get married at. The view of the Pedernales River it has is absolutely stunning. That was the main reason we chose the venue. Then they have 36 acres of beautiful hill country land to look at, a reception barn, a cement area to host a tent, and accommodations for up to 40 people. That includes a huge house with a pool and small cabins. We had a fun filled wedding weekend because of that! We had family and friends come out on Friday for rehearsal dinner, party and stay the night on the wedding day, and leave Sunday after a farewell brunch. It was perfect. The barn is awesome and has two stories, but is a little tight with space. We had 150 attend our wedding and to make sure we had enough space for seating during dinner we had to rent a tent. Then we had everyone move into the barn for dancing. The only reason this place isn't getting a full 5 stars is because they do not offer tables or chairs for reception/ceremony. We had to rent everything from A to Z from a 3rd party vendor. That didn't seem like an issue until you see the final bill. I think they will eventually purchase items like that, but since they are relatively new as a wedding venue, they did not have any to offer. Lastly, you wouldn't know they were a new wedding venue because Melissa and the staff were extremely welcoming, professional, and responsive. I would recommend The River House to anyone looking for a beautiful hill country wedding weekend getaway!
