The Riverhouse is a wonderful place to get married. Since it's part of the Jackson County Parks, it's very reasonably priced - and it's even cheaper if you get married on a Monday through Thursday (we had our wedding on a Thursday afternoon and it cut the price in half!). There is an indoor space with a full service kitchen (but it's not stocked, so you need to bring all your own utensils, etc.), a bridal suite for getting dressed, and a big reception space, where we put the food and arranged the couches into a lounge area. The2 outdoor space is beautiful - it's right on the river, so it's cooler, and there is a big covered deck where we had the ceremony, as well as a grassy area where we set up croquet. There is one indoor bathroom connected to the bridal suite, and three outdoor bathrooms, so you don't need to rent pot-o-potties which is great. The space, indoor and outdoor combined, can hold 250 people, but it's also perfect for a small wedding (we had about 50 guests). The venue comes with 40 stacking chairs, plus 30 or so more folding chairs (but the folding chairs are all mismatched) and about 20 tables (some round, some rectangular). The hostess Paige is a delight to work with, she's knowledgeable and easy to work with and made everything simple and great. Overall it was a wonderful venue, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a simple outdoor wedding.

Our Wedding ceremony was held on a beautifully repainted lattice-covered deck overlooking the Upper Rogue River. We chose to have our guests seated on cobblestoned lawn under beautiful trees during the ceremony.

For the reception, we arranged tables and chairs throughout the grounds. Guests wandered through and around the lawn, winding paths with private benches overlooking the river, the decks (which also served as a dance floor), a gazebo surrounded by beautiful gardens, and the main hall (that would seat about 40 people), which we used as a place to lay out an amazing array of food and courses on long tables.

There is a bride’s dressing room, a full-service kitchen with commercial-sized appliances, an outside brick barbecue grill, and the acoustics were such that, with our own stereo equipment and homemade CDs featuring the PERFECT music for OUR wedding, the guests talked about the music for months! We didn't need a DJ.

We had a pretty small wedding, but the venue accommodates 250 guests with ample parking. Also, within walking distance, right next door, was The Edgewater Inn, a beautiful place on the river with reasonable prices for guests, Jacuzzis in some of the rooms, which was the dream wedding night for us, and an amazing vacation for our guests..

The parks department owns The Riverhouse, which makes it very affordable. It's a beautiful location right on the river in Shady Cove. There's a large industrial kitchen which is perfect for catering staff. You have to do all the setup and cleaning up yourself, but there's no rules about which vendors you can use for alcohol, catering, etc. My only complaint is that it's not a very private or secure location. It's right next door to a park and a boat ramp for the river and we had random people cutting through the riverhouse and kids playing in the yard during the day when we were setting up. Later that night we also had some teenagers crash the wedding and try to help themselves to some wine.
