History

The Threefoot Hotel was built by the Threefoot family, who migrated to America from Germany in the 1800s. After a name change from Driefuss to Threefoot, the family legacy was built. The hotel opened in 1929, and was designed in the quintessential art-deco style by architect Claude H. Lindsley. In 1979, the building was dubbed a historical landmark, and has become an important part of the Mississippi landscape.
