Hope Jones of This Chick Bakes created my wedding cake and cookies, and I cannot speak highly enough about her. After testing multiple bakeries throughout NYC, I knew immediately upon meeting Hope and tasting her desserts that she was the right fit. Hope is a seasoned baker and pastry chef who says it like it is. For example, given that my wedding was in September, she advised against certain fillings that could melt and ruin the aesthetic of the cake. She was exceedingly generous with the samples at my tasting—both cake frosting/filling/base and different types of cookies—and even shipped me a few samples of my two favorite cookies when I couldn't decide which I wanted to pick. When I was having trouble deciding between chocolate or vanilla cake (I prefer chocolate, but like the aesthetic of a white cake for the naked cake style I desired), she suggested doing a white display cake with a chocolate sheet cake as backup. I loved her honest, practical, solution-oriented approach.
On to the most important part—her cookies and cake are AMAZING. No standard "wedding dessert mediocracy" here, my wedding cake was the best I have ever tasted—many guests commented on how good it was—and the cookies were first-rate, too. Plus, the cake was absolutely beautiful. I am so grateful to have Hope as part of my vendor team, and will absolutely be turning to her for every party/event I have in the future!
