We couldn't have picked a better venue for our wedding ceremony and reception, and all of our guests gushed about how fabulous it was! From every pre-wedding visit to the Thompson, to the wedding day itself, we had the best experience. Our reception and cocktails took place on the rooftop of the hotel, with the Toronto skyline as our backdrop and the reception was in the Wellington ballroom on the lower level of the hotel. Our event team on the day of and leading up to the wedding, were amazing! And the day-of team at the Thompson were so attentive and organized, and gave us a true five star experience.

EVERYTHING happens for a reason, now more than ever am I a true believer of this. The Thompson Toronto was the perfect venue to host our wedding reception. There's quality in the attention to detail and the Thompson takes this to heart every step of the way. From our initial meeting with Nick (Director of Catering) to Jim (Valet) seeing us off after our check-out, there couldn't be a better group of people to make you feel as important as you should be leading up to and even after your special day!

We still haven't stopped hearing about the stunning view and superior service overlooking the city from our cocktail hour on the roof. The tasting included in your package selection will not disappoint and shouldn't be missed! The food that is served the night of your reception will mirror this tasting exactly! Every effort was made to accommodate and ensure the safety of our guests (and not just myself!) who had food allergies/dietary restrictions. We were more than happy to hear from everyone that everything was cooked to perfection and one of the best meals they've ever had at a wedding. Our use of the Screening Room for the kids, is another big highlight (for both parents and kids), the kids saying they "felt like kings and queens being served the best food while watching movies" and the parents being able to enjoy the night knowing their kids were in great hands, monitored by a staff member! Just another high-point in service offered to ensure ALL our guests were having a great time!

I had the immense pleasure of working with the top class team at Thompson Toronto for hosting our wedding, reception and all our guests. Nick, Stephen, Mathew, Louisa and Manish (and his team of awesome chefs) - you guys are rockstars! You made the wedding such a hit - all our guests raved about the experience with the hotel, the food and the ambiance.

We had a Indian-Polish wedding, and to satisfy 2 different cultures while maintaining some western aspects for the rest of our guests is no easy task. In fact, it's one of the hardest things wedding venues and catering companies have to deal with. Our families are complete foodies and we emphasize that food makes or breaks the success of our weddings. Chef Manish and his team prepped us a course of dishes that was just nuts. The Polish dishes - mindblowing; the western grill - OMG!; and then the Indian course - It was by far, one of the best, if not the best course of Indian food I've had in Toronto...and I'm from India.

The arrangement, the onsite support and dedication from the staff to make this event successful and memorable for our families was immense. The staff went out of their way to make everything perfect or as close to perfection as possible. The sky lounge btw, is the perfect location to host a wedding - the backdrop of downtown beats everything else in the GTA.

TL;DR the value for your dollar with the Thompson is absolutely superb, given the primetime location and the services offered.

If you're hesitating about hosting your wedding with a downtown hotel due to your inhibition that they can't do justice to your culture's food, I would urge you to give the Thompson a try. They have a great bunch of chefs from all backgrounds who will surprise you with some of the best food you can find anywhere. I know our families were. We are so happy we chose the Thompson over the other stereotypical wedding banquet halls across the GTA!
