“In France we believe greatly in photographing our subjects when they are relaxed and comfortable. There is no hurry, no rush, no harsh lighting, no … coldness. Our technique is to allow the warmth and sensitivity of the subject to guide the lens of the camera. The proper use of shading and positioning permits a soft romantic texture to be more evident than simple color, or black and white photos made at a department store.”
