About

I was born and raised in Australia. When I met my wife, Stacy, while working in an orphanage in South Africa, things changed and I followed her back to her hometown in California.

In July 2006, we got married in Santa Cruz, California. Three years later, in July 2009, our daughter, Havyn, was born. By God's goodness, these two people have turned the direction of my life upside down for the better. If you had asked me when I was twenty-one if I would be where I am, doing what I am doing, I would have laughed at you. I feel so blessed to have the family that I have and the work that I do.

I often get asked why I photograph weddings and I think the answer is simple. I like them. Really, what's not to like? Two people, who are madly in love, embarking on the journey of their lives. You see, like so many photographers, I started out by photographing landscapes that were in my backyard. But when I left Australia and moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, to pursue aide work in an orphanage, there was no longer a beach to photograph. So, my love for photography grew to a new level as I discovered a new subject, humanity. Not just people, but emotions, connections and relationships. I found I could tell deep and meaningful stories by pressing the shutter. Whether it was joy, love, endearment, hardship, faith, sorrow, despair, loss or hope, it all moved me greatly because it was real.

Every wedding that I have gone to, and I've been to a lot, has a real story. It doesn't matter if it's on the beach, in a vineyard, in the city or in a backyard. Whether it's twenty people or five hundred people, simple or extravagant. It doesn't matter because at the core of every wedding, it's so real to witness two people, declaring their love for each other. I love capturing that.

Cheers!

Scott

Scott is awesome! He made us feel comfortable from the beginning. He made us laugh and was great to have around the day of the wedding.

Scott and Stacy Wilson were absolutely amazing to work with! They worked as an amazing team and were so creative! They were able to capture the most special moments of our wedding - including ones that I didn't even know were happening. They did an amazing job on our engagement session and an even more beautiful job on our big day. I feel so blessed that we had them as our photographers. I would fully recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer!

I cannot say enough about Scott and Stacy Wilson of Urban Earth Photography. They are a beautiful married couple that work together in the most efficient and happy way I have ever seen. I researched photographers for 6 months before deciding on Urban Earth. Photography was the most important aspect of the wedding for me so it was important that we book someone who was going to capture the day and all of its detail, while being within our budget. Furthermore, I am the daughter of a photographer and my husband and I are both into photography, so I am really picky. You will NOT find a better photographer for the price.

During our first meeting with Scott, we talked for a really long time because we kept getting off topic and conversating the way friends would. We immediately felt comfortable with him.

Scott did our engagement pictures and after posting them to Facebook, all of my friends flipped and could not WAIT to see the wedding pictures. Scott and Stacy worked together as a team on the day of the wedding and everyone involved in the wedding agreed that they were wonderful. The wedding pictures themselves were stunning - Very artistic and clean. I had a lot of DIY pieces to the wedding and had a VERY long list of shots I asked Scott and Stacy to capture. They never complained or said it wasn't possible - they just made it work, all while being their charming selves and capturing the details in the most artistic ways. They were not intrusive during the ceremony or reception as I never really saw them but when I did need them to capture a picture of me and a friend or family member, they were always only a few steps away. It takes talent to always be so close but not be seen and Scott and Stacy both possess that talent.

I also did a Trash the Dress photoshoot with Scott and had a blast!!! Those pictures turned out just as amazing as the day of pictures.
