Best venue in the Raleigh area

Vidrio is one of our favorite restaurants for the food, atmosphere, and service. We were thrilled to learn they had a wedding venue that is as beautiful as their restaurant and right in Glennwood Ave. We loved working with them, especially their events coordinator, Amelia. They lived up to our expectations and more, and were so helpful during the COVID-19 (wedding) crisis. I would 110%recommend them to anyone looking for a great wedding venue.

Great experience

We rented the 2nd floor of the restaurant. It was so great. The space lay out is great, food is wonderful, and the servers were very attentive. The venue was easy to work with and responsive. We did a cocktail hour, open bar, and 3 course family style dinner. They has great suggestions to help with the flow of the ceremony. The venue itself is very pretty as well and a great location. All our wedding guest commented on how nice the venue was and how good the food was.

The Good the Bad the Ugly

Let’s start with what was good. Yes the food is excellent! 5 stars.yes the staff was great 5 stars yes the ambiance is terrific 5 stars. Now The bad the Event planner though very nice is NOT easy to reach. His phone voicemail is always FULL so you can never leave a message. He sometimes answers his emails and text sometimes he doesn’t. Lots of excuses . I had to call the Restaurant at least two times ask for the Mangr to have them track him down. Very Frustrating when you’re trying to plan an event. Next bad , we had been told we’d have several bartenders for our night BUT WE had ONE. . There was constantly a backed up line for drinks for Rehearsal Dinner then later after The Rehearsal Dinner we had a welcome Party probably a total of 100 people finally a second Bartender showed up but 100 people trying to get drinks and 2 bartenders don’t make for fast service .. always a line for drinks all night long. Embarrassing for us the host.
The ugly : my sons Rehearsal dinner was 2 weeks ago ( June 2022 ) the room upstairs was so hot it was miserable.. everyone sweating and uncomfortable of course wanting something cold to drink and yet always a line because of not enough bartenders. The Even Planner claimed the room was so hot because of sun coming in the windows but it seriously felt like the heat was on and it had to be between 80 -85 degrees in the room. Again Embarrassing for us the host .everyone asking me if the AC was broken. Something had to be wrong because there was No AC. Another upsetting thing was that we were told we’d get a detailed list of all drinks and expenses … we never received a thing ( yet we were charged the total Amt of rental food and drinks beforehand) .... then the next week extra charges showed up on the credit card but yet with no explanation as to what for? Not good business practice.
Would I eat there again? Absolutely downstairs where there is AC . Would I have an event there again? Probably not and Definitely not in that bar area in the upstairs HOT ROOM! Maybe if your event is in the winter you’d be ok.
