History
Built in 1947, as the centerpiece of an 11.5-acre park that honoring those who fought during World War II, the Vinton War Memorial was originally opened to the public in 1948. Following extensive renovations in 2007, the venue was re-opened to the public in 2008.

Vinton War Memorial is a short drive from downtown Roanoke and is easily accessible via Blue Ridge Parkway.

The War Memorial is has one of the most beautiful ballrooms in the area and the staff are always a pleasure to work with.
One of my very favorite venues in the Roanoke Valley! The newly renovated Vinton War Memorial is an exquisitely appointed venue that makes it perfect for a wonderful engagement party, rehearsal dinner or wedding reception. And while the venue is wonderful, it is far surpassed by the staff - so friendly and helpful, always ready to make your event the best possible!!
We always enjoy working at the Vinton War Memorial because the staff is always so friendly and on the ball, which helps make the evening move along smoothly. The renovation was definitely the best thing the War Memorial could have done to improve its status as a modern and stylish venue for any event. If you haven’t seen the War Memorial since it’s been renovated, it’s definitely worth a look!
