The happiest day of our lives ruin!

Where do I start when comes to this critique? Let's start off with the fact when we first agreed to have our wedding at the Wyndham that we had this amazing, funny, assuring catering manager. She promised us it would only be our wedding the day of the event which was very important to us because we didn't want our time to be separated.

She promised us that our cocktail hour could be held in our hospitality room with our bridal party. The rest of the guest inside the hotel restaurant.

Yet, in a few months... she quits and we get this awful incompetent individual name Dorie who takes over.

Dorie literally had been working there for a month. She did not bother to introduce herself to us. I was still emailing the old handler, and my emails were being forwarded to her, and she gave a small sentence about how she would be taking over the account.

Red flag #1 , I then started to email her about the details of our wedding... No response from Dorie. I had to make a physical appointment with her. Which she seemed fine a little spaced out, but we trusted her.

Red flag # 2
Dorie wanted us to have a cocktail hour outside because "made no sense to closed down the restaurant for an hour"

I was enraged because our wedding was in August, and it was heatwave after the heatwave. We had people come from all over the states to see us wed, but she wanted our guest in the mugginess and grossness of August. I told her bluntly that would be a no, and she dropped it.

Red flag # 3 she was supposed to set up the centerpieces, but my husband and the groomsmen and father-in-law ended up doing the decorations.

Instead that day and the day of OUR wedding she decided to show a couple of our venue and claim it as her work which I found disgusting she needed to be going over last-minute details with us not make money.

When it came to our cocktail hour our maitre d was clueless. She did not know that we wanted to have it in the hospitality room because Dorie instead of telling people what to do that day she simply did not care.

We had to wait for our food for at least a good of 30 minutes. It's called cocktail hour I wanted to enjoy the whole hour not just 30 minutes of my food.

Fast forward an hour until our beautiful reception that husband's crew had set up. The bathroom both men and women in my reception the floors were literally seeping out feces. A pipe had broken and there was poop literally everywhere. I will never forget the look of that floor and being horrified.

The smell was putrid anyone who was going to step in there was not going to eat anymore.

We address this to Dorie right away however it took her about a good 30 minutes to write a sign "out of order" another 15 minutes to put up blockers.

In the meantime, my poor husband who by the way has served in the military was literally directing people to not use that bathroom instead of having a good time with me.

We had to ask Dorie what can she do to help out with the situation when it came to our money because we have spent over $6,000 to use the whole reception hall including the bathroom.

The bathroom that was another option for us was completely inconvenienced because the fact that we had to walk out the reception hall, walked to lobby and into a very long hallway. Which was meant for the public and it wreaked a feces and pee as well. The bathroom in the reception is there for a reason because it is completely out of the way to use the bathroom anywhere else.

She decided to argue with us for a good hour and a half until we came up with an agreement.

She kept telling us "eh stuff like this just happens... I cannot do anything... only upper management is in control"
Her excuses/lies were weak, and cheap not even five years old would believe.

Simply put she didn't care we could tell by her shrugging her shoulders and the tone of her voice was flat. The solution that we had come to didn't need upper management approval. It was her not wanting to give us an inch because she lacks compassion. She should be running a prison instead of weddings. She wanted us to bite the bullet on HER mistakes, instead of taking ownership.

Dorie your customer service is poor. The happiest day of your life you do not argue with a couple you find all solutions as soon as possible because that is what good customer services about. It hurt me so much that I trusted a snake. As somebody who been in customer service for about 11 years, I always think "well what if that was me I wouldn't want that. "

The reception was also very hot but I did not bother to tell her because her attitude was so lacking of care. I knew she would nothing to help us I'm sure she would have told us "sorry but the air is on upper management controls the air here"

I don't think she liked it us because of the fact that we were a gay minority couple. I cannot help but think that.
There was also another wedding happening that day. She and upper management lied that we were the only wedding. When literally I saw the bride and I talked to her. That day Dorie had given the other wedding her full attention. I can count many times that day that I saw Dorie. It was about 4 times which was ridiculous.

I come to find out the next day. The light fixture had fallen almost hitting my DJ. Nobody wanted to tell me because they did not want to ruin my day which I'm very grateful for.

I addressed this with Dorie and upper management and they told me that the building is up to code and stuff like that just happened. That is the complete and utter bull.

I would love to message other venues and ask hey does sometimes your light fixture potentially almost kill people?

The thought of my DJ getting hit when he was so awesome or my flower girl (because she was near him) getting injured,/kill or anyone that I love getting injured/kill that day really gets me so upset because of the lack of building check-ups.

In conclusion if you want a cold heartless witch who all she cares about is making money and by the way if you look up a profile has zero experience running a wedding to run your wedding then go for it. I would strongly suggest that you go to other venues near there because this place is nothing more then a dangerous cesspool of feces and light fixtures potentially hurting you and your love ones.

Thank you Wyndham for ruining our perfect wedding I've wanted a wedding since I was about 7 years old and I ended up with a nightmare.

Another thank you for treating my love who served in the military like crap as well. It's good to see you treat your servicemen's with the up most respect. NOT!!!
