Like the previous review, we used Y Lo for our wedding catering at Artwork Network. We had a morning wedding and served pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fruit. The food was delicious and the presentation was second to none.
I didn't have the experience that the other reviewer did, however. Unfortunately, our buffet was running out of food after about 100 people with about 30 people left. We were working with Michelle and before the wedding, we actually increased our servings to 150 to ensure that we had surplus--but that did not happen. The staff seemed not present throughout the day. There was nobody tending the buffet. Beverages kept running out. When it came time to cut our cake, there was a miscommunication and our pancake cake was not on our table when it was supposed to be. (Our DJ says "turn to the sweetheart table for the cake cutting..." ...and yeah..no cake...a little awkward...). Fortunately our wedding was pretty laid back, so I don't think the guests were too concerned..but still.
I think a lot of these issues could have been prevented if communication was better. Any time I would send Michelle an email, I would always get an auto-response message saying she was unavailable, and would get back as soon as possible. I guess I just didn't feel valued. I felt that they did a sufficient job, just enough to get by, but it wasn't flawless.
And when you are paying top dollar for pancakes and eggs...I feel like the service should be remarkable.
We contacted the owner after we got back from our honeymoon, and they were flexible and apologetic. They did accommodate us to make up for what had happened on our day.
