Cal Poly Pomona Fall of 2002 we met as freshmen. Our mutual group of friends often came together to hang out and party together.  Throughout the years we would have casual interactions and… In 2004, Our junior year I moved next door to Ike at the University Village or 38 hunnet as many would call it. We literally were next door neighbors in upstairs apartments. We spent many a days and nights chatting on the steps, talking about life, dreams, and interests, even occasionally swapping relationship advice! We became best friends, sharing our deepest thoughts and most embarrassing secrets. Summer 2006, things changed; I moved across the apartment complex because of a community advisor job. We found ourselves frequently making the trek across the complex to seek each other’s company. Me and You started sounding like a pretty good idea. In addition to best friends, we became companions and partners to each other. Just as easily as we became friends, we became partners continuing to support and care for each other. It’s hard to pinpoint our ‘first date’, as a we had already spend years going to the movies and grabbing lunch together and even cooking meals for each other. After both of our graduations and moves back and forth between Los Angeles and Orange County, many jobs and progressing in positions, Ike decided to propose in the most amazing way. My graduation party was the cover up. In front of our closest friends and family he told our story, got on one knee asked for my hand in marriage.  For the record, I said “of course”. The summer of 2013 almost 11 years after first meeting we are getting married!! We can’t wait to celebrate with our family and friends!
