  Bryan and his team were the first vendor to arrive at our wedding, they were there even before the venue staff came to open for us. They were also the last to leave and helped us load the centerpieces and such into my moms car. They were friendly, helpful and great to work with. And the pictures are really beautiful.
  
  My sister is also using them for her June wedding next year ad we can't wait to work with them again.

  Bryan was really great to work with. He did a great job with our engagement photos and I just went through my wedding photos and I can't believe how good they all look. I'll have a hard time picking out which prints I'll take.
  
  I also want to note that Bryan was kind of my de facto wedding coordinator. I made my photographer the most important budget item and he went with me to look at venues, he foudn the bakery that provided our cake and he helped me decide between my favorite two dresses.
  
  Between the extra help and the great pictures he was more than worth every penny.

  Bryan was really great to work with. He did a great job with our engagement photos and I just went through my wedding photos and I can't believe how good they all look. I'll have a hard time picking out which prints I'll take.

  Just a quick review on 1000 Words Photography. I picked them based on the reviews and it was a good choice. He was at the venue before it even opened and did a great job helping us stay on target as far as time. He shoot our wedding on the 1st, delivered our preview images on the 3rd and completed all our images on the 5th. The pictures are fantastic and I can’t say enough about the service we received.

  We didn't use a wedding planner to save money which made me nervous. However Bryan and his team were excellent and made us feel comfortable through the stress of the day. From beginning to end they were very professional and helped lead us through steps to make our day a special one as well to make sure that the memories that were created on this day were captured. Thanks again Bryan.

But Bryan was very gracious, so much so that I said something like thank you from all of us for being so accepting of nontradtional couples. And he said we were two people clearly in love who wanted to spend you lives together, and it was hard to be more traditional than that. It was really sweet.
  
  The second thing is my hubby was a little nervous about things as he isn’t closeted but he can be very reserved. To see how at ease Bryan made him with posing and pictures was so great.
  
  The third thing was the pictures are so good. I look even hotter than normal lol. Seriously Bryan has such an eye for how and where to take a picture that its easy to get beautiful pictures.

  Although we live in Richmond my wife is from California and I am from North Carolina. So we turned our destination wedding into a kind of world tour and did our engagement photos in Richmond, Va one family dinner in North Carolina, one in San Francisco and then finally got married in San Jose, PR.
  
  Brian shot all of our sessions for us and not counting the engagement session traveled with us for five days. All the pictures are really great and he was pretty amazing company. Although it wasn't in his job description he was a great buffer between my wifes sister and her.
  
  So I think over 6 days of shooting we got to know Brian much better than the average couple and we can say for a fact he is great to work with and really considerate besides being LGBT supportive.

  Bryan was our wedding photographer and we were so pleased with his service. Not only did he take some amazing pictures but he was a pleasure to work with. He was super nice and professional. He showed up promptly on the day of our wedding and was literally taking pictures for 8 hours with the exception of a very short break to eat. We have received so many compliments on our photos! I would highly recommend Bryan for any of your photography needs.

  The pictures are fantastic, that's obvious from Brian's portfolio. What is really impressive is the care he delivers them with. Brian answered every call within an hour and I never felt rushed. He put real thought into our pictures and he was pinning photos for months asking us if we'd like to try them. And he was incredibly gracious, he even got my mother and father to take a picture with us and they normally don't even speak to each other.
  
  I really feel like my photographer was the best in the world and our pictures and experience with him reflect that!

  Great pictures and a very fair price are what we got from 1000 Words. Two quick notes about the service we received. The first was that in our engagement session he brought all these really cute props for us to use, like signs with our date on them. The second was that he also had some rubber boots and put them on to stand in a pond and take our picture with the venue behind us. These two things said a lot to me about his commitment to getting the perfect pictures for us.
  
  He also was very willing to work with us on a fair price because we had a small midweek wedding. And he was really easy to work with, a couple of our friends even took him out for drinks after the wedding.

  Bryan did an excellent job for us. The photos are incredible, the video is super cute. All of our friends commented on how nice Bryan was. In fact a couple of them have hired him for various events already.
  
  The price was also very fair. And the service was nice. Overall we couldn't have made a better selection.

All you have to do is compare the quality of his pictures to other photographers and 99% of them can not even compete. He is very easy to get a hold of when we needed him.   One note our wedding was in 1999, but it wouldn't let me select a date that far back.
  
  Bryan is a great photographer. He did our wedding almost 15 years ago and he’s done 4 other weddings in our family since. Every single couple has gotten great service and great pictures, at this point there are more 1000 Words pictures in my house than all the others combined.

  Bryan is a great photographer. He did our wedding almost 15 years ago and he’s done 4 other weddings in our family since. Every single couple has gotten great service and great pictures, at this point there are more 1000 Words pictures in my house than all the others combined.

  Bryan was so great to work with! He's truly a nice person and a professional, and he provided so many great photos for us to choose from of our wedding.   I hired 1000 word photography for my engagement party and was very disappointed with the result. The pictures were poorly taken and had very dark backgrounds. I had specifically raised my concerns regarding the lighting, since my party was held indoors. Bryan assured me that would not be an issue, as he would bring his equipment. I imagined he would bring his own lighting equipment, which was not the case. The pictures clicked by my friends were far better quality and they captured some of the important moments that Bryan failed to do.
  
  Bryan is a very nice person to work with. He is professional , punctual and courteous, however, the pictures I received were poorly captured. Some snaps had wires and poor flooring captured in the frame, which I feel he could have strategically avoided. A lot of our guests entering the function hall had their backs clicked, and I only wish, he would have told us to turn around.
  
  I choose 1000 words photography because of the excellent reviews he had, his professionalism and the pictures he posted on his website. I also hired him for video, which I haven't received yet, while the contract clearly states that I would get them in 28 days. The videographer did not even have a mic with him, hence I am not sure if my parent's speeches were captured. What kind of video is taken without recording the family speeches? I spent way over my budget on photo and videography just to get really beautiful pictures, and I was asked to make full payment 2 weeks before the event. The snaps of my engagement party were so disappointing that I had to share my experience for anyone considering 1000 words photography as their photographer (or for videography).

  Bryan is extremely unprofessional. He cancelled our wedding contract 24 hours before the wedding saying he "mangled his leg in a car accident." He then posted the next day on his personal Facebook page that he got in a 2.5 mile walk. How could anyone with what he described as a "mangled leg" walk 2.5 miles?? He told us we would have a full refund in 7-10 days and it has been over a month since he told us this and we have yet to be refunded a dollar. So not only did he cancel his contract with us.. He also won't give us our money back. Although I will say the good thing about him not showing up to our wedding was a blessing in disguise as I have now read reviews about how terrible his photography is and how bad the pictures turn out. We were able to find an amazing couple that took beautiful pictures. Unfortunately, at the moment we have paid for two photographers. Bryan has not kept in touch after the wedding with getting out refund back. It has been two weeks since he's responded to any of my emails, voicemails, and phone calls. He has lied to us multiple times saying "our money is processed and will be back in a few days" obviously not true since we don't have our money back yet. He will not explain the delay of why we don't have our refund either. He will only say "when I know, you'll know." I would never recommend Bryan or his business to anyone and truly call into question all of the short and brief perfect reviews on this page.

  Do not hire this photographer.

  3. When he left our wedding, he asked if it would be okay if we had our photographs in two weeks (his contract promises the photos in one week). We were completely okay with it as we were heading off on a honeymoon and then moving across the country so we thought it was okay to wait. After multiple emails and phone calls that went unanswered, we finally saw our pictures out of the blue on October 10th, after responding to other disgruntled newlyweds on his Facebook page. Now, that I've printed the photos finally, more than half of the files that we downloaded from his website are not even of a high enough resolution to produce a nice photograph.
  Please, save your money and hire someone else.

  We contracted Bryan Winston of 1000 Words Photography as the photographer got our daughter’s wedding last May. He had several good reviews posted on the web. And he came across as honest and reliable in our interview. Unfortunately, we had poor experience with him that raises questions about the positive reviews on the web.
  
  Byron sold us his “silver package” that included the photography at the bridal dinner and the wedding and the reception, and posting of the pictures on the web, and supply of three albums and 50 prints of different sizes of photographs of our choice. He did a generally good job in taking the pictures except that he vastly overstated the time each picture would take thus having the family at the wedding site too far in advance. But this was not a big issue for us. The problems started with the delivery of the products he had promised. Instead of one week that he had promised, it took him several weeks to post the pictures in high resolution (that were in the contract) and only after we had to figure out why his site did not allow it (he had incorrect settings). He only got around to the albums after repeated enquiries form us but then we discovered that he has a very cumbersome program for producing the albums that was very difficult to follow. Interestingly, he himself was not that familiar with the program. After a few tries, we gave up and decided to do the albums ourselves on Shutterfly that was much simpler and better. He promised but never refunded us the money we had paid him for the albums. The 50 photographs are yet to come after 6 months despite repeated email enquities that invariably went unanswered by him. He often pretended that he never received the emails. Finally we are giving up on him ever giving us the refund or to supply the photographs.
  
  In case you are considering using him, we suggest that you should do some real reference check and not rely on the web reviews that in hindsight seem questionable.
