  Amazing catering!

  808 grinds catering for our wedding event was amazing! They were easy to work with and accommodated all our changes to our event up to the day of the event. Everyone at wedding raved about the food, basically the talk of the wedding.

  So easy to work with, very quick to respond, very reasonably priced, and the food was absolutely amazing! Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the delicious foo!

  808 Grinds one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Not only is their food terrific, but their service went above and beyond what was required of them. Jensen, the owner, was super friendly to all of our guests and went out of his way to check on people while they were eating. Mahina was working in the truck and was also the person we set everything up with leading up to the big day. She was accommodating and made creating a menu very easy. The food got rave reviews from our friends and family, including a branch of my wife's family that lives in Hawaii and is very picky when it comes to Hawaiian BBQ.

  Love the Food... Catering was not easy

  I want to start by saying the day of-- perfect! The planning part... less than ideal. We started off with one catering coordinator and then it changed several months in. The second coordinator was horrible to communicate with, it took over 2 weeks to get a response once, and on average it took at least 5 days to get a response. Which is so not what you want when you are planning a wedding. Not to mention, when we would get a response 80% of the time most of our questions were not answered-- even if we numbered the questions. Or very often our questions were severely misinterpreted and we would have to repeat them and then wait another 5 days to get a response. They had issues with their food truck a few months into us signing on with them, which meant we wouldn't be able to use it for the wedding anymore. We understood this was not their choice and had to be really hard on them as well, so we were trying to work with them to figure out what our solution would be. We were told they would not offer full service buffet because of COVID and the risk to their employees, but that left us feeling unsafe for our guests as that would mean everyone would be serving themselves and touching the serving utensils and such. It was becoming very stressful to navigate... but then they got the food truck fixed!!! Which meant they would be able to serve the guests from the food truck no problem-- sigh of relief. The last hiccup we had was that the new coordinator changed the rules on quantities for us. The first one told us we could do customized quantities on each item we ordered, Ex. serving for 30 people on tofu, serving for 60 people on rice and so on. But the second coordinator told us we had to do a flat quantity, so if you have 70 guests you will have 70 servings of everything you order... So that was pretty frustrating. Overall the inconsistency between coordinators, the huge lack of communication and very poor communication quality was a struggle. Ultimately, I cannot recommend them for catering because no one needs extra stress when planning a wedding and they were a huge part of our stress. But I do want to say, the day of people that worked the truck were LOVELY. I wanted to be like "could I just have worked with you the entire time?!" He was personable, accommodating and very pleasant. We had a lot of compliments on the food and the service.
