User2447249 Sent on 11/30/2015Wendy designed the flowers for our reception! They were absolutely stunning and exactly as I had imagined. I showed her some picture ideas from other receptions and told her what I exactly wanted and they were so beautiful right down to the type of flower and color. I had a lot of creams, blushes, and ivories, She was also able to match our cake with roses and they were pretty. She works with your image and makes it happen! -

Everything was just as I envisioned it would be. She is a delightful, dear and talented woman. I felt she went beyond what was asked to make everything absolutely beautiful. I have been singing her praises to everyone! -
User2188745 Sent on 06/20/2015My flowers were Gorgeous for my wedding ceremony and reception and this was all due to Wendy and her team! I am not much of a flower girl and could not tell Wendy any specific flowers I wanted to include- only my general color scheme, however my mother had very specific ideas of how she wanted things to look. Wendy spent time going over every detail with us and even took some pictures with her I had collected. On the day of- The arrangements were so beautiful my heart ached to leave them all behind after the event! And my mother, the writer of wedding bill checks- was head over heels about the flowers. I keep looking over and over at the couple pictures I have gotten so far from the ceremony; the flower colors pop so brightly.
I took off for responsiveness, because it was very difficult to get a hold of Wendy by office phone or email. She is best reached by her cell phone- which I learned the hard way while trying to politely wait for my flower estimate for 2 months. However, once we made contact- she was very attentive to getting me the estimates and making sure all the specifics were included and totals correct. If you are looking for a very experienced florist, with limitless knowledge on flowers, colors and artistic arrangements- you money is well spent with Wendy! -

Jennifer Sent on 06/24/2010The flowers were beautiful, but they did seem a little aged. Her prices are a bit high. My center pieces we not exactly what we had discussed, but still very pretty. -
User1201346 Sent on 06/15/2013I recently got married at a hotel that A Beautiful Event has a package deal with. I trusted that the result would be what I had envisioned... however, it was not. On a positive note: although the bouquets did not come out as I had expected, they did look really nice with the bridesmaids dresses, and I love the way mine looks in the pictures. The main flower I wanted was Peonies, and there were very few in each of the bouquets, the center pieces, and on the flowers for the ceremony. When I walked down to the ballroom before I got dressed I was almost in tears, as the centerpieces provided made our reception look like a cheap banquet. There was no "WOW" factor. Cheap filler flowers were used (which she warned me of, however, I thought they would be minimal.) I recently got my professional photos back, and I cringe every time that I see the ones of the tables. I understand that this was a package deal, and to ensure cost effectiveness, I received this result... however, she should have called me and explained exactly what I was getting, and that if I wanted more, I could pay extra. I never received a single pro-active phone call or email, just the email with my invoice. Which leads me to another issue... 3 days before my wedding (while I was studying for my last final for grad school), I received a phone call from her assistant requesting payment. I had sent Wendy a personal check for the deposit, and a certified check for the remaining balance a few weeks before. I emailed her for conformation of receipt, and never received an answer. However, they both were cashed shortly after. There definitely needs to be a better system for receipt of payment on their part, as no bride needs the stress of worrying if something got paid for, a few days before their wedding. I have received thank you or follow up emails from my other vendors, but I have yet to hear from A Beautiful Event. -
User1193457 Sent on 06/09/2013Let me start by saying that all other people I reviewed for our wedding I gave 4.8 to 5. The reason I am giving a beautiful event such a low rating is as follows: Quality: the flowers for the bridal portrait looked like they were dying. Also the flowers on our arch and cake looked the same. I will say the table flowers looked very good. Responsiveness: Wendy took forever to respond to phone calls and emails. We made multiple attempts to communicate with her but she seemed to never have never have time for us. She also forgot the brides name several times. Professionalism: We never recieved a tossed boque at the wedding even though we paid for one, she at first tried to blame this on us just not looking hard enough and on the hotel we had the wedding at. Eventually she did reimburse us for it, since we were able to confirm it was missing. Value: it was somewhat overpriced. Flexibility was ok. Overall my issue was that we felt like she really didn't care about us. I'm not sure if its because we didn't spend as much as other couples or what. But we both felt that we were treated unprofessionally and did not recieve nearly the quality of service we paid for. Although she did reimburse us for the missing boque and the table flowers were very nice I would not reccomend her to anyone. -
User1469912 Sent on 12/11/2013While Wendy is a very sweet woman, the service and product we received were less than stellar.
First, it was very hard to get a response from Wendy by way of email, text or phone call. I had several changes to make throughout the process, and even just getting her to book us caused anxiety because she never responded to my email letting her know we'd made a decision.
Second, she isn't very organized. She didn't remember much of anything from our initial meeting, and our estimates were constantly wrong because she would forget to add something or change something we discussed and I saw her write down. She also failed to meet us when she said she would the day before the wedding to deliver part of our order, without a call or text to let us know.
Third, while the "look" of the flowers was very beautiful, it was not what we wanted. Had I known what it was going to look like (i.e., if she made us a sample of the flowers before the wedding) I would have told her so. I thought she understood that I wanted garden roses, to look like peonies, but all the roses were regular antique roses. The flowers on the tables were also not really what I wanted, even though I had shown her pictures and descriptions.
Fourth, the day of the wedding, the bridesmaid's bouquets look like the flowers were dying and were VERY small compared to what I was expecting. She tried to say that they were supposed to be brown on the edges because they were "antique." We never even asked for an "antique" look. FURTHER, she forgot to leave our corsages and boutonnieres. When we called her, she told us they had to be there and to just look around. However, they weren't there, and she had to come back to drop them off.
Again, Wendy is a very sweet lady, but I think she needs to have someone manage the business side of her business. She also needs to be clear and maybe make a mock up of the designs before she delivers.
