Perfect partners for planning your wedding
We weren't sure we needed wedding planners because we "thought" we could do it all ourselves. We were WRONG! There were a million details that we would never have thought of, would've waited too long to do them, and wouldn't have made the right decisions. AFA were amazing - thoughtful, supportive, and helpful. Our wedding was a million times better because they were a part of it. And their day-of oversight allowed us to fully enjoy the wedding despite some very rainy weather. I can't recommend them enough! -

I used A Family Affair to rent assorted vintage china & drinking glasses for my wedding and I was so happy with how everything turned out! They were very flexible in allowing me to change which items I was renting when I discovered I didn't need everything I initially thought I would and they were able to work with my parents who were able to pick up all the rentals ahead of time. Thank you for helping make my wedding look so beautiful!! -

We worked with A Family Affair with the full planning package for our wedding, and we're so happy that we did! Not only did Paula and Jordan coordinate countless details across a large set of vendors to create a totally stress-free environment for me on wedding day (a big deal for a bride!), they also used their amazing artistry and vision to produce the wedding of our dreams. Paula took my ideas, iterated on them, and then brought them to life in the MOST gorgeous way, above and beyond anything I could have imaged - she is a true artist! Beyond their creativity and detail orientation, Paula and Jordan were a blast to work with. Though wedding planning can be a stressful process, their enthusiasm and excitement around all of the little details made the planning process so much fun. -

Easy to Work With!
We rented antique brass candlesticks and table number holders (black clips) as decor for our outdoor, summer wedding. A Family Affair was easy to work with and very responsive. My rental items were in great condition upon pick up, and we were even able to pick them up a few days early. Overall, we were very satisfied with our rentals and would highly recommend working with A Family Affair! -

Making my dream wedding a reality
Paula and her team were phenomenal to work with. I first contacted AFA when I was living out in Oregon and asked for help planning my wedding back on the east coast (both with coordination and in crafting the overall look and feel of the wedding). AFA was incredibly helpful in sending me the names of top vendors in the area and in creating a vision for the big day. They worked with me to secure contracts and to ensure I was getting the best deals possible. Having planned almost the entire wedding over the phone/online, I was a bit anxious the days leading up to the wedding. Paula was amazing at calming my nerves and went out of her way to provide support. One thing that helped was her detailed production schedule (my maid of honor, having worked in the event-planning industry herself, was particularly impressed with this). In the end, the wedding was more beautiful than I could have imagined and having AFA there made all the difference. For those searching for a wedding planner, I would look no further. With AFA you not only get a person but an entire team of professionals working to make your dream wedding a reality. -

User2286507 Sent on 08/25/2015Paula was a joy to work with. Her inventory matched so well with our vision for our wedding at the Portland Company. One of my husband's "musts" was a lounge area- we rented a sofa and comfy chairs and coconut crates from Paula to create this space and it was utilized literally all night- I just wish we had rented MORE couches and chairs because it was such a hit (especially for parents, grandparents, and older relatives!) We also rented table runners, table numbers, chalkboards, window panes, an adorable tabletop hutch to hold our homemade honey wedding favors that was SO CUTE/PERFECT....oh so many wonderful things that made our wedding go from sweet/normal -----> extraordinary! My favorite piece of the whole evening was the "off white sette" which my husband and I used for our sweetheart table seat- it was so so so cute and perfect. It made our head table feel so much more special and cozy and elegant...and we were right next to each other the entire dinner and speeches, which was exactly where we wanted to be.
Paula was easy to work with, responsive, sweet, and go-with-the-flow. I must have changed or adjusted my order multiple times thru the booking process and Paula was totally cool with that---- which was so appreciated since the wedding vision for me changed multiple times along our engagement period.
I would definitely rent from Paula or use her advice/services for another event/party- and all Maine bride's out there looking for some uniqueness to their wedding---- A Family Affair can fill that need!
