Excellent photographer, stunning photos, and fun to work with!
We worked with Lisa at Abby Jiu Photography and we couldn't be happier with how all of our photos turned out! This was actually the third time my now husband and I have worked with Lisa (once at a mutual friend's wedding we were both in and then at my sister's wedding). Each time, however, we were impressed with both the quality of her photography and her interactions with everyone.
Lisa is the ideal photographer! She is able to capture beautiful shots, keep everything on time and in order while keeping it fun and light. We enjoyed taking photos with her and so did our families and the members of our bridal party. Moreover, she and the Abby Jiu team were able to add little additions along the way that kept surprising us and gave us different ways to remember and treasure our special day. We received our photos about six weeks after the wedding and they are stunning. The individual shots between us, the family and bridal party photos, and then the photos from the ceremony and reception all capture something different but individually special. We absolutely love the photos and we frequently catch ourselves playing a slideshow of them which immediately brings us back. We cannot thank Lisa enough for her amazing work and are happy to recommend her and the rest of the Abby Jiu team for any of your wedding or photography needs. -

Oh, how we love Abby Jiu Photography!! We met Abby at my husband’s sister’s wedding the year prior to our wedding and I immediately knew I loved her. Not only are Abby and Lisa so sweet and caring, but they are so incredibly talented! It’s hard to put into words how much we love them and how much we love our engagement and wedding photos! I highly recommend you hire them for your wedding day and your engagement session too because it definitely helps them get to know you better and helps you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Abby worked with me over the entire year helping me choose outfits for our engagement session (because she is crazy stylish!), giving input and recommendations for timeline and photo lists, going to lunch with me and my mom and future mother in law, going to a dance class with me to kick off our wedding week, and honestly just making me feel so beautiful on our wedding day! I am so grateful for meeting Abby and so thankful to now call her my friend!
Abby and Lisa captured our wedding day PERFECTLY! I have watched our slideshow and looked through our photos countless times and I'm brought to tears of joy every single time. We may never be able to pick our favorites because they are all so incredible! We are forever grateful for Abby and Lisa!

User1623440 Sent on 05/19/2014Abby Jiu's incredible photographic abilities are immediately apparent when viewing her website. Her professionalism was apparent from the moment we contacted her. Her contracts, fees, and personalization of services is all in writing up-front. The only unforeseen surprise - and it was a pleasant one - was that we had no idea about the amount of extra time and effort Abby puts into her work.
Abby Jiu's photography is beautiful. She made us shine in each of our photographs. Part of the reason for this is because she is such a joy to be around. It is hard not to smile when someone as friendly, patient, and hardworking as Abby is standing in front of you helping you to look your best.
My wife and I never needed to look around to find the photographer. Either Abby or her assistant were by our side at all the most important moments. Somehow, they also caught other significant moments that we weren't even aware were happening. They knew where to be, where to look, and exactly what to focus on at all the key moments; an ability that only comes from experience and keen intelligence.
It was a pleasure to work with Abby. I highly recommend her in all categories. -

Abigail Sent on 01/10/2014I was already in love with all of Abby's work, so when our wedding planner told us she was available for our wedding we were thrilled!! We didn't feel the need to do any meetings with her ahead of time, or give her a shot list because we really wanted her to just do her thing! Abby was simply perfect! She has such a great personality and helped keep it fun when I was getting nervous by having me look up a video she knew I would love! I was almost in tears I was laughing so hard and was able to relax and enjoy the process instead of being so nervous. Abby is very professional, yet she was still able to make us feel so comfortable. She genuinely captured all of our special moments. She was so patient with us, and worked through our guests as they hugged and congratulated us, she captured it all. She just floated around magically capturing every special moment! Abby's assistant helped out tremendously with our 4 year old daughter and was still able to capture such lovely photos. We received a preview of our gallery and pictures within days. Abby captured the day in a way only she could, she told our story through her pictures in such a natural and beautiful way. -

Nicole Sent on 03/11/2013When I first met Abby, I knew right away I wanted her to photograph my wedding day! She was so laid back and easy to talk to. Her portfolio was breathtaking, with such rich colors and amazing lighting captured in each of her photos. Our engagement session, which was included in our wedding package gave us the opportunity to get to know Abby and allowed us to get comfortable in front of the camera. Our photos turned out beautiful and I knew that our wedding photos would be just as wonderful. Abby was great to work with on our wedding day, she was so flexible and made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. Our photos were stunning! I can't say Thank You to Abby enough, she captured the most perfect memories for my husband and I.

User1101255 Sent on 03/02/2013Abby photographed both my engagement session and my wedding and did a fantastic job. We looked at the pictures on her website and loved them. Her pictures were a good mix of casual, posed, and unique shots and they all had that "pretty" look. Further, unlike many in the DC area, she uses primarily film rather than digital cameras. She will take less photos than but her frames are well thought out and deliberate.
Another aspect we loved is Abby's flexibility - she was willing to listen to our ideas and patiently answered all the questions we had about her work. This was important to us as we interviewed over ten photographers and found some to have a "don't question me about my work" attitude. Especially if this is your first (and hopefully only) wedding, you probably will have a ton of questions!
We highly recommend doing the optional engagement session with Abby. She knew we hadn't ever worked with a professional photographer before and so gave us a lot of advice for us on preparing for the engagement shoot. It was a great dry run for the wedding - helping us understand what to expect and making us more comfortable with her and in front of the camera.
Our wedding day was also perfect. Abby came on time, prepared, and gave us just the right amount of direction. Needless to say, everyone loved our wedding photos and many commented that ours were the best they've seen! -

Marie Sent on 07/28/2011I cannot say enough fabulous things about Abby. From start to finish, she was the utmost in professionalism, talent, flexibility, and kindness. She is so organized that everything was a snap to arrange. Her photos are absolutely amazing, and she made me and my family completely at ease through the stressful process of planning a wedding! Everyone who sees our photos comments on how wonderful they are, and we couldn't be happier. Abby captured EVERYTHING we wanted for our wedding day, from the preparations, to the family shots, to the candids throughout the day and evening. Our memories of the best day of our lives will be preserved forever, and we can't thank her enough.
