  Best Decision!

  Food was one of the top priorities for our wedding and Actual Food delivered such exceptional service for our big day. From the beginning, we worked with Luke to provide a selection of our likes and dislikes and they were able to craft together an example menu for our fall wedding. From there, we were able to make changes to a few things based on what we liked and what we thought would serve our guests best. When a menu was set, we went in for a tasting of a few selections from the menu. Everything was delicious and gave us confidence that our guests would be satisfied on the big day. During cocktail hour, Actual Food provided bartending service for us as well as the passed appetizers and meat and cheese table. The passed appetizers were a hit, especially the hot chicken and waffle and fried green tomato and pimento cheese. For dinner, guests raved about the Piri Piri chicken, the sirloin and chimichurri sauce, sides, salad, and the rosemary biscuits. We had so many guests tell us how good the food was and how the selection was incredible for a wedding. Not only was the food tasty, but the service was great too. The staff made sure the tables were cleared, water glasses were filled, and were there to serve guests as they went through the buffet line. They even were able to cut our cake to serve to guests after our cake cutting. We highly recommend Actual Food for your big day!

  Incredible catering in Nashville!!

  We could not have been more lucky to have landed our caterers: Actual Food Nashville. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, they created the menu exactly as we wanted, handled the bartending, the signature cocktails, it was all perfection. They made everything gluten-free as well! If you’re in Nashville or surrounding and need food for any type of party, I cannot recommend them more!!!!

  Best Wedding Food in Nashville!

  Luke and his team are amazing! Actual Food catered our wedding in August and did a fantastic job. The food ended up being one of the best parts of our wedding and something we got the most compliments on! His team was so nice and attentive to our guests. Everything came out hot, cooked perfectly, and was beautifully presented. We highly recommend!

  Fantastic Nashville Based Catering Service

  We recently had Actual Foods cater our wedding. The food was delicious. The team at Actual Foods is easy to work with both in creating a seasonal menu and making adjustments along the way. All of the staff and the bartender who worked the wedding were incredibly helpful and kind. We received a ton of positive comments from our guests about the service. Would definitely use them again for any future events.

  10/10 great experience with Actual Foods

  We loved working with Actual Foods for our wedding. They came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator and once we started talking to them, I completely understood why. They were able to answer all our questions, their pricing was really affordable and they had absolutely outstanding food. I recognize I may be biased, but I truly don't think I've ever had such good wedding food before that was hot, fresh, and truly tasty. We got so much great feedback on how much people liked the food. So grateful we went with Actual Foods!!

  The BEST wedding food

  Actual Food was hands down the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. We got married two weekends ago and we're still having friends and family talk to us about how amazing the food was at our wedding reception. Joe and I live in New England and had our wedding in Franklin, TN. All we knew we wanted was comfort food that had a nod to my southern background and Joe's New England. SO we had lobster rolls as one of our appetizer options and southern buffet for dinner! Luke and his team were so helpful during the menu planning process and gave great suggestions when we needed some advice. The food was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding day - thank you!!

  Amazing Caterer!

  Actual Food was absolutely amazing! Because of last year’s COVID-19 variant, my husband and I had to relocate our Los Angeles based wedding to Nashville, TN. We did a few food tastings but when we went to Actual Food it was amazing. First, their food tasting is unique and different and the vibe of their lounge/facility sets the tone. The food is fresh and working with Luke and Autumn Zimmerman was a great experience. They were responsive, helped review our alcohol order, allowed us to make changes to our menu and gave great suggestions. Also, I heard great reviews from guests regarding the appetizers and the food (Brussel sprouts were a fave!). But more importantly, what guests told us was that the service was amazing! They had great reviews about how the staff were present as well as the bartending staff. We did three specialty drinks that day and I was told that each bartender was assigned to make a particular drink, which helped to ensure there were no wait lines at the bar. I am very happy with our service and the food that was provided to ourselves and our guests on that special day.

  Best catering company and service EVER!

  How do I even begin to explain how great this catering company is! This company was recommended by my wedding planner and I am so THANKFUL she referred me to them because the entire experience was superb! Conversations with Luke and the entire team were always positive and helpful. The wedding tasting was such a fun experience, and everything we tasted was better than the first. We loved this company so much that they graciously offered to host my rehearsal dinner on Thanksgiving - amazing customer service! My guests raved about the food, drinks, and services they offered! I would recommend Actual Food Nashville to anyone I know! Thank you all so much!

  Delicious Elevated Southern Food!

  Actual Food was a blast to work with. From the start, Luke had us try anything and everything we wanted during our tasting. We even came back to support their restaurant, Inglewood Lounge, and he had a few more appetizers for us to try. He recommended a menu that had a cohesive variety of flavors, paying tribute to our Nashville destination for most guests (think mini Hot Chicken Waffle bite, and beats with mint and cheese). The food tasted great, was prepared well, and serviced hot and efficiently too.

  Actual Food was the perfect caterer for my wedding! I wanted something different than the usual chicken dishes, and they delivered! We had mediterranean meatballs, poached salmon, a mac and cheese bar, and late night grilled cheeses! They also did our bartending and created our signature drinks.   Best catering company in Middle TN!

  We just had Actual Food as our caterer this past weekend and through a postponement due to covid, specific requirements I had, and a love for supporting local, this caterer went above and beyond our expectations! We cannot thank them enough. The food was excellent and the experience of planning and taste testing our wedding menu was just as superb! The Mac and Cheese Bar was a hit!

  Deliciousness

  WOW, Actual Food Nashville, WOW! AFN came highly recommended and certainly did NOT disappoint. I expected the food to be good however it was amazing. What I did not anticipate was the superb professionalism and flexibility in this difficult time of a global pandemic. With Luke and his team, a great load was lifted off of myself (MOB), as they saw to it that each and every need was not only met but exceeded throughout the planning process as well as to surpass our high expectation on the evening of what ended up being a dream wedding event.

  Actual Foods is the Best!!

  We hired Actual Foods for our wedding and we cannot say enough good things! They were so awesome to work with - so professional, friendly and patient even with two delays due to COVID - and the food was absolutely delicious. Our guests were raving about the food all night. If you're considering hiring Actual Foods, do it!

  Wonderfully unique and delicious food!

  We wanted to have food unique to us and our wedding. Actual Food has you fill out a survey and they design the menu around your taste and style. Everything from corresponding with Luke, to the tasting, to the wedding day, Actual Food did an amazing job! We are still getting compliments on the food a month later!

  Catering for Wedding

  Actual Food was soo great to work with and the food was excellent. They were always quick to respond the emails, the pricing was very reasonable for the strong quality and they truly delivered the day of the event. The team worked to overcome a few obstacles last minute and provided wonderful service to our guests. We had many compliments on the food and they made adjustments to the offerings based on our vision. Could not have asked for a better caterer / bar service. We were very happy with our selection and love what they stand for as a company.

  Hands down the best, most unique wedding menu ever. The food was delicious and Dan and Luke were super helpful in organizing a menu based around a Mediterranean theme. We unfortunately didn’t get any hor d’ouvres because we were taking pictures but I heard they were great. The dinner was buffet style and the food was promptly served and fabulous! The servers were courteous and discrete. Luke also helped setup the plate, silverware, glass rentals so that was awesome not to have to find a separate vendor.

  Dan and his team were wonderful. Very kind, easy going, professional and timely. They were well prepared and catered to all of my needs (I am gluten free)! I will use them again in for events in the future and recommend Dan to my friends for sure.

  Dan and his team were wonderful. Very kind, easy going, professional and timely. They were well prepared and catered to all of my needs (I am gluten free)! I will use them again in for events in the future and recommend Dan to my friends for sure.

  Dan and the entire Actual Food team were very professional. He was flexible with changing the menu item as well as how much we needed. He had great suggestions and ideas. The food was mostly prepped on site and was excellent. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for catering.

  Dan Forberg, founder and chef of Actual Food Catering Co., made my husband and I's culinary dreams come true on our wedding day. Working with a budget, as most couples need to planning a wedding, we found ourselves prioritizing. We came to the conclusion that our guests' dining experience was very important to us, as we our foodies ourselves. Dan met with me numerous times, was very patient, passionate, and accommodating in personalizing the menu to EXACTLY what I wanted on my special day. Since we only had 40 guests in attendance, it allowed us to have a 5 course meal, all of which included: brulée sweet potato and beet, pork belly mini kabobs, butternut ravioli, chicory arugula and fresh fig salad, crispy duck or chicken breast (tempeh as a vegetarian and vegan option), apple tart and date ice cream. It is an understatement to say that every dish was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Duck is difficult to cook, as it can easily be overcooked and end up chewy, but it melted in your mouth! Actual food's service was at the peak of professionalism, prompt, and attentive. I could go on and on, but we really couldn't have asked for anything more. This catering company was one of the highlights of our wedding! Thank you Dan and staff!

Not only was the food spectacular and had all the guests raving, but the quality of service and flexibility from all the staff to accommodate everyone with incredible service In the rain, was more than appreciated. I can't say enough good things about actual food Nashville catering and the quantity of food, service making our wedding day enjoyable and stress free!

  Dan at Actual Food Nashville was a true pleasure to work with for our wedding and rehearsal dinner catering. He was not only personable and flexible, but the creativity he brought to the menu made our big weekend complete. The mini chicken and waffles with the macaroni and cheese bar were a hit with everyone...not just the southern guests!
