    Scam artist

Scam artist and fraud. We paid him in full and he didn’t show up to our wedding. I talked to many brides who he did this to. He has a history of showing up to weddings and then never delivering the photos. DO NOT HIRE.

    Lack of communication

If there were an option to give zero stars I would. Let’s just start by saying the lack of communication is unbelievable. Starting with the days leading up to the wedding Rich was very hard to get ahold of. The night before the wedding I was over it I had my husband call him and he finally answered with a start time that I had been requesting for over a week. The day of he text me an hour before he was supposed to arrive and said he didn’t think he needed be there for 10 hours and that 10 hours of coverage was to much and that he would refund me if that’s the route I wanted to go. I told him absolutely not and that I wanted the 10 hours of coverage I paid for. I’m so glad I did as he would have missed us getting ready. And I’m sure with all the cases he has going against him and all the “failure to appears”he wouldn’t have refunded me anyways. He was over 15 minutes late and said he spilt something on his pants as to why he was late. There were no evidence of any spills on his pants and it didn’t seem like a legit reason to be late. When he arrived he seemed super irritable and not like he wanted to be there. He left early to go to the venue to “set up”. He missed my mom helping me get dress and everything before we left to go to the venue. So I never got photos of us, which is super disappointing. During the ceremony one of our guest said he was on the phone with someone while the ceremony was on “calling them baby”, which is very unprofessional. After the wedding after taking group pictures we were getting ready to take photos outside someone in our bridal party overheard him saying “this is baby making weather” whether it was or not that’s very unprofessional of him to say especially in front of our guest. The reception went fairly well, but when that 10 hour mark hit he was out and he never told anyone that he was leaving.
So for waiting for our photos we waiting a long 12 weeks for our photos. My MIL passed away 2 weeks after the wedding and I asked for an update or if I could get RAW photos of her at our wedding to show at her funeral and he never once replied or give his condolences. We made 20+ plus attempts within those 12 weeks to contact him and only on 5 attempts he answered and he only answered when we told him we were about to escalate the situation and he would reply back immediately with your photos are safe and that I will send you an screenshot of your gallery. That happened twice and never once got a screenshot of our gallery. He had to get his friend Monica Susoreny/Jimenez from Las Mamacitas involved and told her what was going on and that we will be escalating the situation if he doesn’t deliver the photos ASAP. Of course she ended up not coming though and stopped replying until we put both of them in a group chat and called them out on their bluff. He ended up manipulating us on several occasions and was told if we didn’t take the TRUE post down about his work of employment he would not give us the passcode for our photos of which we paid for. After fighting with him though text messages and told him that he cannot manipulate us any further or we will get authorities involved. He finally gave us the password and then went to explain to us his said story of his personal life and how rough his life has been with his soon to be ex wife and family and court cases that he’s currently facing. If you want to waste your money on someone who doesn’t communicate, show up on time, and doesn’t deliver your photos with good quality he is DEFINITELY your guy. Do your research. Be aware! His quality of work when he tries is good but when he doesn’t edit them at all the photos are blurry and some have shadows and embarrassing to look at and he delivered 50% of our photos in album that way.

    Worst Experience

Absolutely do not hire Rich Aguilar. This man is a Scam artist. My husband and I are only one in a long line of couples he's scammed. He took our wedding photos in Oct 2022 and promised to deliver our photos within 2 weeks. We contacted him a month later and despite a few false claims of saying he will have them “soon” which eventually led to zero communication or response from his end when he didn’t deliver the photos, he's never got back to us since! We had to file a lawsuit and he still hasn't responded to that. Imagine having spent over a year trying to plan for a wedding and spending a decent amount of money only to not have a single picture to look back on. I wouldn’t want that for anyone. So do yourself a favor and under no circumstances do not hire this man for anything!

    Wedding Photo Nightmare

My husband and I have been dealing with a couple’s worst nightmare when it comes to wedding photos. We had hired Rich of Aguilar Photography for our wedding that was in July 2021. We are still dealing with the aftermath of it all. First, on the day of the wedding, Rich seemed irritable and just not himself, but ok I get it, things happen in your personal life. Fast forward to the beginning of September when I reach out to him to get an update on when our photos will be done. He told me soon, however just a week later he then updated me that my photos were actually lost and they had been lost since the end of August! So, he actually lied to me about the status of the photos. His losing the photos was completely negligent on his part since he took the memory cards on another shoot a month after our wedding without backing them up to anything. He then promised us a refund and to get scheduled for a mini shoot to try and recapture some of the shots. To make a long story short, that never happened. He eventually stopped replying to us when we kept pressing on trying to get things figured out. We had to resort to taking him to small claims court in order for him to finally reply to us, but that didn’t last long either. He had agreed to a payment plan for the refund, but again never followed through. So we ended up in small claims court and he didn’t even bother to show up. So here we are a year later, with no wedding photos and nothing to try and amend the situation. I would highly recommend finding a new wedding photographer if you were considering Aguilar Photography as yours. His system is flawed and he is the most inconsiderate and uncompassionate person I have ever met when it comes to trying to right a wrong. You will regret hiring him.
