  Easiest. Decision. Ever.

  Where do I even begin??! Alex is absolutely incredible. By far, the best decision I made during our wedding planning was hiring Alex to handle all of our music! Music is a hugely important thing in my life - I’m always the one at events that people turn to to “DJ” and play music, make a playlist, etc etc. So handing over the reigns to someone to be in charge of the music on MY wedding day was NO easy task. Alex was truly a no brainer for me. I wanted one person in charge of it all - the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception. Alex exceeded all of our expectations. For the ceremony, I wanted to walk down the aisle to a popular song - but the piano version, no lyrics - I found a piano cover of the song on YouTube, and I sent it to Alex and was like “hey, can you learn this?” LOL - but not only did he learn it, he completely crushed it! It was perfection. Alex also played acoustic guitar at our cocktail hour - we let him pick the songs and do his thing, and we received SO many compliments on how great he sounded. Everyone loved it. Then Alex DJ’d our reception. BEST. DJ. EVERRRR. We put together a Spotify playlist of songs we wanted to hear during the night - I also told Alex what songs/artists we definitely did NOT want to hear - and he did fantastic! Literally the dance floor at our wedding was packed the ENTIRE night! My stepmom couldn’t even believe it - she said it was the most fun she has ever had at any event ever, and we had multiple people tell us that they have never been to a wedding where the dance floor was legit popping ALL night. The absolute highlight of my entire wedding was dancing so hard and belting “Mr. Brightside” on the dance floor with my closest friends and family - all of this thanks to Alex. If you want to feel confident that your music for your entire event will be in the absolute BEST (and extremely talented) hands, then look no further, and hire Alex immediately. His level of professionalism and musical talent is truly something to be admired. He is a Jack of all trades!

  Best Decision Ever

  Alexander Ruwe and The Red Jackets were absolutely amazing to work with. From the planning to the execution, everything we dreamed of was accomplished even better than we planned it. From asking for a lot of songs to be done live rather than recorded and having their services during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and our reception, we were so happy with our choice in choosing the Red Jackets. They are so interactive and just lovely people to be around. I enjoyed every minute of it and enjoy seeing them at local St. Louis offerings; it helps us hold on to a little bit of the fun from our wedding day! THANK YOU ALEX, for making allll of our dreams come true. You made it ALL happen and I had a lot of asks 🙂 You could tell the band was having just as much fun as we were having. When catching up with our friends and family from our wedding day, they comment on how perfect the music was from our ceremony (thank you Alex!) and how fun and energetic the dancing was at the reception (thank you band!) we had the dance floor full all night long!!   Alex is the best!

  Alex was absolutely amazing! We had to change our venue twice because of Covid and Alex worked with us through the whole process! In the end, we had a backyard wedding that was livestreamed and everyone there physically and virtually commented on how much they loved Alex! The acoustic music during our ceremony helped give it a super personal touch! Then, later in the evening when it started raining, Alex let us move him under a 10 X 20 tent and we kept the after party going for another 2 hours in the rain! We could not have asked for a better DJ! Alex truly cared about us and making our day the best day it could be! We 1000% plan on using Alex for any and all music needs in the future and he will be someone that we recommend to anyone who is looking for a DJ! Thanks so much Alex!!!

  Alex and his crew absolutely blew us away on our wedding day! They were so open and easy to connect with in the days before, and then they made our wedding day run so smoothly. We had acoustic sets during the ceremony and cocktail hour and then the full band during our reception. Our guests could not stop talking about how much fun they had and how incredible the band was!! I wish I could get married again just so I could watch them perform again! The dance floor was PACKED the entire night!! Our wedding day would not have been the same without them!!!

  Groom Experience

  Review from the Groom. Alexander was absolutely amazing. He’s incredibly personable. He played a guitar and sang out on the patio during happy hour. I sadly missed most of it due to talking to guests but I heard that it was amazing. He had the dance floor off and popping ALL NIGHT! I know this for a fact because you couldn’t pry me off the floor. His ability to read the room was immaculate. He played older songs when the boomers hit the floor and a ton of 2000s hip hop and r&b for the millennials (I’m 28). I got super drunk but didn’t get a hangover because Alexander played the right music to make me dance off any alcohol I had in my system. If you don’t hire Alexander I promise you are making a mistake. 1,000,000,000/10 recommend.

  From Muscial Heartbreak to a Happily Ever After

  When our musician canceled on us with only a month to go before our big day — and after being booked for over a year — our hearts sank. Heading into what was being reported as the busiest wedding season in history, how would we ever find someone else not just to play our wedding, but to bring to life everything that music lends to the ambiance and feel of the day?
  
  Enter Alexander Ruwe.
  
  Passed along as a recommendation from another musician, we listened to every clip online we could find of him performing, and as a result, also discovered a young woman in a few of his videos whose effortlessly soulful voice gave us instant goosebumps.
  
  The way their voices blended together, we could already hear them as we walked down the aisle. There was no question about it — they absolutely had to play it.
  
  After reaching out to Alex directly, he promptly responded, and despite having a full schedule of gigs already, he hated to see a couple in a bind. Immediately, he agreed to play the wedding.
  We then asked about the young woman, who we learned was Joanna Serenko. Alex told us he'd reach out and check, and in the meantime, we again scoured the Googles for any videos we could find of her. Color us surprised when all the results were clips from her recent run on The Voice. Surely someone with John Legend on speed dial had better things to do than play our event on a Friday. But we were surprised once again when she'd agreed to join Alex for the evening without so much as a single question or hesitation.
  
  And just like that, what originally seemed as though it would be the hugest damper on our big day quickly became a blessing in disguise.
  
  Alex and Joanna absolutely killed it, performing a fun yet heartfelt acoustic set as our guests arrived, as well as a couple special requests for our ceremony, and then another amazing set during our cocktail hour. Our guests have all continued to rave about their performance, but even outside of that, both Alex and Joanna were so genuinely happy for us and to be a part of our day that it really made it seem like we'd known them forever. They had even asked us to let them know if there was anything they could do to help that day aside from just playing.
  
  We couldn't have asked for a better duo to play, and look forward to seeing them both at more gigs in the future.

  Alex is PHENOMENAL!!!!! We will forever look back on our wedding day so fondly and are so grateful Alex lent his AMAZING voice to our ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dances. He is unbelievably talented. Not to mention he really gets the party started DJing the reception!   Unparalleled musical talent and professionalism

  We absolutely loved Alexander Ruwe. He worked with us extensively to make sure that everything about our wedding day music was perfect. It is his absolute passion to produce good music and a good time for us and all our guests. His professionalism was second to none, and all of our guests had a fantastic time.   Alex was amazing! I felt like I took forever to find a DJ for my wedding because I wanted to be sure that everything was perfect. I am SO happy that I found Alex. Honestly, if you’re like me and are extremely indecisive, you should stop your search and hire Alex! Not only did he play music during our ceremony and DJ during our reception, but he also played acoustically and performed for our guests.. everyone LOVED IT! He kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night! He was so personable and easy to talk to. He actually took the time to meet with my husband and I prior to our wedding date just to make sure he could figure out what we did and didn’t like and allow all of us to get comfortable and get to know each other. Throughout the entire evening I had so many compliments about how great Alex was. He fit right in and felt more like family by the end of the night. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

  Our favorite wedding vendor!

  Alex was our favorite vendor from our wedding and I couldn't imagine our day without him. He made the evening so memorable for my husband and I and anytime we bring up our wedding we always remember how packed our dance floor was and that truly made our reception the best celebration. We hired Alex and a second guitarist to play acoustic during our cocktail hour and then Alex DJ'd the rest of the evening. It was the best of both worlds and I highly recommend doing this. Alex not only has a large repertoire of songs he can play but he is also willing to learn something new if you ask! Alex is a seasoned event professional and was great with his communication from the time I inquired with him about his services, leading up to the event, and even after! We continually hear our wedding guests singing his praises and I am just looking for another excuse to hire Alex for an event. I cannot recommend Alex more for your upcoming wedding or event, he is simply the best!

  We could not have been happier with the music Alex provided!

  Alex was amazing since our first email interaction. He has a super positive attitude and was very professional. He was patient with our indecisiveness and worked with us on songs that were not currently on his playlist. He made everything so easy and stress-free. The day of went AMAZING! He set the perfect ambiance for our ceremony and cocktail hour - I wish he hadn't already been booked for the evening - I would have loved him to stay for the entire day! Don't hesitate - book with Alex if you are lucky enough that he is available!

  Alex and his band far exceeded our expectations! Alex was amazing from the start with the planning and learning new songs we asked for him to play. He and the band were a hit and everyone had such an amazing time! So happy we made the choice to have Alex.

  AMAZING! You won't regret it.

  WOW! I am having trouble finding other words to describe how the music and the band made our night the incredible night it was. Alex created a custom song for my dad inclusive of a few of our favorite songs growing up. He was so surprised as the songs kept playing. It was so unique and I wasn't sure if anyone would be able to create a track that different. We are STILL getting compliments on the overall performance of the night. You won't be let down.

  Book your date with Alex, then plan the wedding!

  If 5 stars = "The best ever!", then that is certainly true of Alex! We were referred to Alex by a couple of our friends who had him play at their wedding. They couldn't speak more highly of him, and we now share that sentiment. Alex went above and beyond for us, every step of the way. He recorded multiple samples of music so we could choreograph our dance. He learned to play a song in different timing so we could waltz to it, and he and the crew learned many of the family favorites. He checked in with us multiple times before the wedding to see if there was anything he could do to help. So many of our guests commented on how great they were! We cannot recommend Alex and his crew more highly! If he is still available for your event date, book him quickly. And, if he is not available, I would recommend moving your date to fit Alex's availability. They are that good!

  Wedding reception music

  We first met Alex at a wedding show in 2019. I knew from that moment I wanted him to play at our wedding! He was so nice and personable! Once we booked with Alex I was even more excited he was going to sing at our cocktail hour and DJ for the rest of the night.   Having Alex and his crew part of our day was the best decision ever! They were amazing! He made the entire music selection process so easy and worked with us to find exactly what we wanted. Alex played solo during our ceremony and then was joined by the guys for a trio during the reception. Everyone loved them and had so much fun! 10/10 would recommend and we will be recommending him to all our friends!

He is AMAZING to work with on so many levels - communication is great, super flexible, offers feedback and suggestions...the list goes on and on. Plus he's just a super chill, fun guy who enjoys music and is passionate about what he does - so you know he's going to rock whatever job he's doing. But one of the things I loved most about working with Alex is his willingness to learn and try new things. The song I walked down the aisle to and our first dance song were not ones that Alex was familiar with before I "requested" them. But that didn't stop him from learning both and playing a beautiful version on our wedding day. It was absolutely perfect and I can't wait to get the recordings (what other dj/band does that!?). Do yourself a favor, pick Alex - you won't regret it! Alex, we LOVED having you be a part of our wedding day. It made it that much more special and we can't thank you enough.

I didn’t even have the venue yet but I knew I had my ceremony music!!! I would describe his style as John Mayer on steroids, haha!   Put your hands together for Alex Ruwe!! This vocalist/guitarist/ DJ (probably many other musical talents that I am forgetting) is absolutely amazing!   My husband and I got married in the middle of the pandemic and Alex went above and beyond to accommodate all of the changes. He was so fun and easy to work with and our guests LOVED him! From the acoustic ceremony to the dj’d reception, Alex absolutely killed it!!
