    Could not be happier

    Alex was/is/has been amazing through every step of our planning. From the incredible packages, to meeting us in our home to show us samples of her work and our engagement shoot, she has been an absolute blessing. I can not promote this woman enough. The work is incredible, and the personality matches.

    Phenomenal photos and phenomenal person!

    BOOK ALEX RIGHT NOW! I can't say enough good things about her! Alex is not only an amazing photographer, she's an amazing person! She is the most hopeless romantic and she loves love so much that she completely dives into every shoot. She helped us every single step of the way from organizing portrait lists months before the wedding, to accommodating bizarre schedules for an engagement shoot, to taking stunning wedding photos (through tears!), to hand-delivering our finalized album. Her attention to detail is divine and her style is impeccable. Alex is patient and understanding and truly made us feel heard and appreciated. She worked with me and my husband for weeks after our wedding making the album absolutely perfect and truly cared about our input and worked to make our vision come true. If you want a phenomenal photos and an photographer who will become a friend, look no further!

    Alexandra was amazing to work with. Planning with her was easy, and she was on-time and professional during the wedding itself. She was easy-going and responsive, and her positive attitude was wonderful!

    We were so pleased to have met Alex and have her capture our wedding day. From the first time we met her - we knew she'd do an excellent job. She was so excited at our engagement photo shoot and her enthusiasm never waivered throughout the entire process. She's definitely skilled and incredibly dedicated. She was actually a week from her due date when our wedding happened and she was still all over the venue taking photos (knee pads and all). Our guests remarked how dedicated she was and she really is. I'm excited to see our photos but knowing Alex, they will be wonderful. It was a serious delight to work with her!

    We absolutely loved working with Alex - she was completely amazing. First and foremost, she took the most beautiful photos of our wedding. Her candid portraits of guests were particularly stunning. Don't give her a long shot list, let her do her thing! Secondly, she was delightful to work with. She was easy going, extremely friendly, and yet managed to herd us all into the necessary pictures in a very timely manner. I couldn't recommend her more.

    Alex had photographed the wedding of a good friend, and the photos looked great. She came personally recommended to us, and deserves the high praise. Alex is super easy to work with, very professional, prepared, etc. But what really matters? The photos, and they were beautiful! We couldn't be happier. The other compliment I would add is that Alex is very efficient at politely directing all the family to get the various portraits done. I really appreciated that that process went smoothly. Highly recommend. Our wedding was June 4, 2016.

    Alexandra did an engagement shoot for my (then) fiance (now wife!) and I in the DC area at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Park which turned out to be just AMAZING!!! She even recommended this area based on what we told her we were looking for, which was a mix of nature and DC history - she was able to incorporate backdrops of the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, cherry blossoms and the Potomac River all in our 1 hr shoot!

    We would not hesitate to use her again. She gave great direction, took magazine-worthy shots and even edited out the scaffolding that was all over the Washington Monument per our request. The shoot was April 2013 during the earthquake repairs but after her editing they came out PERFECT!!!

    Personable, professional and incredible at what she does.. Thank you, Alexandra!!

    Alex is amazing! She has an eye for capturing beautiful photos and is extremely easy to work with. Alex is very thorough and was able to work through all our photos with our family and bridal party efficiently and with ease. So excited to see our pictures, Alex also took our engagement shots and we loved them!

    Alex photographed our May DC nuptials and did an absolutely fantastic job! She went above and beyond her photographer duties helping us to stay to our schedule and not miss out on any of the special events of our wedding (grand entrance, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc.). She played the perfect role of a “fly on the wall” photographer. She was never intrusive and aside from when she was helping us to stay on track, we barely noticed her taking pictures. We also used her photo booth service, which was amazing! Our guests loved it and all of the handmade props and the booth itself were adorable – a great addition to our reception. Overall, we would highly recommend Alex to capture your special day!

    Alex is a great photographer. Our pictures came out wonderful. We opted for a second photographer for half the time (great to capture all aspects of the ceremony) and the photo booth which got a lot of fun pictures. Alex is experienced at weddings and spent a good bit of time fixing my hair and sash and anything else on my backside that I couldn't see going on. Prior to the wedding, she was a little scattered in emails, but was also managing another business which has since hired their own manager. I think that will solve the problem and it did not affect the photography on the wedding day at all. I really appreciate that she didn't force an album on me and included digital copies in her price. Well worth the price, I'm sure she will go up after another year or so in business. I feel like I got an excellent deal.

    Highly recommend! My husband and I hired Alex as our wedding photographer, and were blown away by the beauty of her photos. She was able to capture several of the special moments of the day, which was exactly what I was hoping for. We have a great mix of candids as well as posed photos. She did a terrific job of noticing potential photo opps and making the photo come to life. Maybe most importantly, she was an absolute dream to work with. Alex is very kind and has a calming presence, which is essential on your wedding day. If you are planning a wedding, save yourself a lot of stress and hire Alex as your photographer!

    We couldn't have possibly been happier with Alex as our wedding photographer!! We loved her style and photos and she was wonderful to be around the whole day (and you spend a lot of time with your photographer!!). She made us feel comfortable and got amazing set shots in a short amount of time and spent the rest of the day capturing incredible moments between us and all of our wedding guests as part of a photojournalistic approach. She understood our style and was a dream to work with. We have gotten innumerable compliments on our photos and not only got every possible shot of us and our wedding party we could imagine but found ourselves sending copies of amazing photos of our guests to them. We never talked about the number of photos we would be provided as we trusted Alex to capture everything in any number of shots but were suprised to recieve around 1800 gorgeous edited photos within a month of our wedding. We cannot recommend Alex enough and have a liftime of memories captured to thank her for!

    My wife and I were nervous about selecting a photographer for our wedding. We knew that the night would quickly come to an end, and that the pictures would be all that remained of the event. We did not have much money to spend, but we were unwilling to compromise on the quality of the pictures. Several photographers had delivered their sales pitches to us, but they were either too expensive or their visions were simply not what we had imagined for our wedding pictures. For a while, we thought that we were being unrealistic. We wanted to a photographer who charged a reasonable price, who had an artistic eye, and who genuinely wanted to work with us. We eventually found one: Alexandra Friendly.
    My mother, an artist, had seen a picture on Ms. Friendly’s website of a teary-eyed mother who was obviously overjoyed with the occasion. She was impressed that the photographer was able to capture the expression because weddings can be chaotic. Trusting my mother’s instincts, I decided to contact Ms. Friendly—I am glad I did.
    Ms. Friendly was the consummate professional. She was punctual to our first meeting, bringing several of her many cameras that she had planned to use. She clearly was enthusiastic about photography and excited to work with my wife and me. We decided to hire her for an engagement photo-session to assess whether we wanted to use her for our wedding. We had such a fun time with Ms. Friendly during the session and were thrilled with the photographs, so we hired her for the main event. By the end of the night, we had several vintage Polaroid pictures in our hands—which we love—and several weeks later, hundreds of beautiful high-resolution digital photos arrived. My wife was elated with all of the staged and candid pictures of our family and friends. If you are planning a large wedding or a small one, and you are searching for a professional photographer who will follow your directions while using her artistic discretion, then I recommend Alexandra Friendly. We could not be happier with our pictures, which will drape our walls for all the years ahead.

    Alex photographed our engagement and wedding photos, and we could not be any more pleased with how they turned out! We have received so many compliments from friends and family. Her photojournalistic style put us at ease; the photo shoot felt very natural and not at all awkward. Her warm personality, flexibility and openness to new ideas make her so fun to work with! Alex went above and beyond to make sue we were comfortable and that we were getting the pictures we wanted. My husband and I love remembering moments through photos; Alex captured all of our special ones in ways that we'll always cherish!

    My wife and I loved working with Alex, she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We loved that she experimented with different cameras/film to capture our day. We still hear from our guests how incredibly hard-working she was lugging around multiple cameras to capture every moment and how sweet she was to people. Best of all, our wedding photos were awesome.

    Alex is great. Our photos were absolutely amazing. I would have loved a few prints along with the digitals, but for the quality of the photos, it was worth it in the end.
