User1899509 Sent on 11/01/2014Always Elegant is where we ended up buying our bridesmaids dresses for my wedding. We called in advance to see if they had the dress we were looking for and thankfully they did. The sample dress was green as opposed to the gray we needed and the owner was very helpful in showing us swatches and similarly colored Gray dresses to give us a better idea of what they would look like. The only downside is that we did not get a phone call when the bridesmaids dresses were in. I happened to find out they were in when I went with my mother-in-law to look for her dress. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend them. -
User1721802 Sent on 07/20/2014On a limited budget, I was surprised to find my wedding dress in a small boutique. The experience for my initial bridal appointment was great - the staff were helpful, but gave us space. We were the only appointment so we had the attention when we needed it. Unlike some of the bigger retailers (like David's Bridal), I didn't find the appointment to be a huge sales push - which was refreshing.
My later appointments for fitting felt a bit more pushy than when I went to get the dress. The staff insisted on showing me veils and jewelry, when I indicated that I was all set in those areas. After the initial fitting, my family and I didn't always feel terribly welcome (many bridal appointments and hard to get the attention of the staff). Ultimately, I found a beautiful dress and was mostly happy with the experience. -
User2633467 Sent on 06/04/2016This place is horrendous! We orders the bridesmaids dresses in a coral, PAID, and a month later they call and say that the dresses don't even come in the color. So we travel back to the shop, some girls from different states to try on more dresses because they REFUSED to give us a refund. But offered us a shit discount. We had to skype the bride in to see our dresses.
Then we left them 4! Messages. Literally 4 and never once did the call us back. And now we are sitting outside their shop for a 9am bridal fitting and guess what, they aren't here because the store doesn't open until 11!!!!!! Are you kidding me???????? -
User1541705 Sent on 02/23/2014The mother-of-the-bride, my sister-in-law, our little daughters (so looking forward to trying on dresses) all visited ELEGANT BRIDAL in Flemington, NJ (http://www.elegantonmain.com) yesterday. It s a little shop on Main street that LOOKS LIKE it is a respite from the madness.
We had called the afternoon previous to our visit, three times, and left messages that we would be in the next morning to see their junior bridesmaid dresses but we had a particular model in mind. The owner of the shop, Rafaela, I believe, did not return our calls. We were initially only able to receive a response via email, but finally, after numerous attempts, she finally called back.
Rafaela told us when she called that we could certainly come to the shop but we shouldn't expect to try anything on until we basically swore on the lives of our children that we would actually BUY from the shop. We explained, How can we buy the dress until we see it on our children? After much back-and-forth, she agreed to let our us come in, after driving the 45 minutes to arrive, and try on the dresses.
Upon entering. Rafaela informed us that. miraculously, in the late night hours, the dress we wanted to try on had been sold and we were not only not allowed to try in on, but even touch it. We kindly asked, since the dress we wanted to try on had been sold somewhere near midnight, that we would like to try on something comparable to get an idea of the girls sizes.
Her answer was No. She said, in full view of all the junior bridesmaid dresses in the store, that she had absolutely nothing for us to try on. But, we explained, we drove 40 minutes to get here and you told us last night we could try on the dresses. She curtly said, Sorry, you can't and refused to even take the bridal dress out of the plastic covering for us to look at.
After some back-and-forth, we asked the simple question -- if you knew the dress was sold, why didn't you call us back to alert us not to make the trip? Cont'd... -
User1908664 Sent on 11/06/2014I had the absolute worst experience with this bridal shop. First off, if you call there it is extremely hard to speak to a person, you generally get a voicemail and then a call back. Rafaella the owner had difficulty remembering the date of the wedding I was in and even called my cell phone thinking I was someone else at one point. Then on the day of the wedding I realized that my dress was a different color than all the other bridesmaids. Come to find out the wrong color was ordered by the shop. This was extremely embarrassing and I never received an apology. After my initial e - mail about this issue I did not receive any correspondence back until I called them two days later even though the shop says they will get back to you within 24 hours. When I asked for a refund I was told that I couldn't get one because I already wore the dress. I felt that no matter what this was made out to be my fault when the shop ordered the wrong dress. Needless to say I do not recommend this shop.
