GORGEOUS mandap and flowers!!
Amy Burke designed the mandap and provided all of the centerpiece and other decorative flowers for our combined Hindu/Christian wedding and reception at Thomas Fogarty Winery last September. Everything was PERFECT. She brought to life exactly what we wanted - from the stunning mandap to our lush Jai Malas to my unbelievable once-in-a-lifetime ombre petal runner!! Her team is confident and professional and you know you are in good hands with them. They built our sturdy and gorgeous mandap and after our ceremony they expertly deconstructed everything, loaded up all of the flowers, and drove them back to San Mateo, repurposing all of the flowers for our nighttime reception!! It was MAGIC.
Your planning meetings with Amy Burke will be a little overwhelming in the best way - only because you are in her amazing design studio and Amy and her assistants know EVERYTHING about flowers. They will listen to all of your ideas, requests, cultural requirements, and then tell you exactly what they can deliver given the season of your wedding, the sturdiness of certain flowers, and other factors you might have never considered.
In short, our wedding was breathtaking and more than we could have ever hoped for - and Amy's work was a huge part of that. Amy and her team made my NYE wedding at the City Club so magical. She transformed our ceremony space and dining area to my dream wedding. Amy understood my vision and ran with it. She was a pleasure to work with and really put her heart into everything she did for my wedding. Our guests are still raving about it. Amy Burke and her team did an amazing job with the flowers for both the ceremony and the reception. Everyone commented on how beautiful the flowers were from the chuppah, to my bouquet to the table arrangements. Was absolutely amazing to work with. When we say our room for the first time I was speechless and "wow" was the words that came out. She took our Dr. Seuss design and made it beautiful. Just an amazing experience. Reasonably priced and far exceeded our expectations.! THANK YOU AMY!!!!Was absolutely amazing to work with. Amy Burke is fabulously talented. If you are looking for boring, she is not your gal. We wanted our wedding to be original, modern and beautiful and Amy truly delivered! She took the time to go through every detail with us during our meetings. I was excited to see the result, but her "creation" far exceeded my expectations and wildest dreams. My husband and my father (who typically couldn't care less about flowers/decor) could not stop talking about it! You cannot go wrong by hiring Amy Burke. One of the most creative women I have ever met! Words cannot describe how talented this lady is. She is easy to contact, available to meet when you request, and is extremely gifted in floral design. I loved meeting with her in person. Her office is adorable and you are able to see her many different visions that she can create. If you just view her website, you can also visually see what she designs. She is just phenomenal!
On the day of our wedding, when her assistant brought in the flowers, everyone in the room just stopped and stared at the beautiful bouquets. She was able to match my colors with the flowers that I desired. I thought this was perfect, but then when I saw the area where we were going to have our reception, I cried tears of joy. The room was breathtaking and it was everything that I envisioned and more.
Amy is also the perfect vendor because she has great connections and recommendations. Through Amy I found 2 of my other vendors: cake and photography. Amy was the florist for my wedding on September 2 at the Mark Hopkins in San Francisco. I first heard of her through the recommended vendor list from my venue, and I also found out that she had previously worked on other weddings with my planner, Wendy Harrop. I was very happy that Amy had done other weddings at the Mark Hopkins as I knew that meant she would be familiar with the venue space and the look of the rooms, as well as familiar with the vendor policies of the hotel.
I did not have a very strong vision in mind for my flowers. The first time I met with a florist, I felt like this was a problem as I didn't have answers to all the questions the florist had. However, when I met with Amy, she made me feel at ease. She helped me understand what I liked and didn't like by showing me different examples of arrangements and personal flowers. She incorporated the particular requests I did have in to her proposed designs, such as the flowers I knew I wanted for my bouquet, as well as some elements I knew my fiance had mentioned liking at previous weddings.
Amy was also creative in helping me make decisions that allowed me to save money on some arrangements and mixing those arrangements with the larger, more costly designs that I liked.
On the day of my wedding, I was blown away by the size and beauty of all the flowers. They complemented the look of the venue perfectly. I received multiple comments from friends and family as to how stunning the flowers were for the event. She just understood us and our style and brought it to life. Amy picked up our vision and ran with it! She delivered more than I ever imagined - I was in love with everything she did - my bouquet was by far the most beautiful I've ever seen. The ceremony treatment was intimate and romantic - exactly what we wanted. Our reception decor was so gorgeous that I teared up walking into the room. Everything was just so special and beautiful. She is one of the best out there and so perfect to work with - her work and style is stunning!Amy is so talented - so creative, sweet, passionate. Working with her was a dream. Her design and implementation stunned everyone who attended our wedding and transformed our ceremony and reception site into a gorgeous affair. She worked with us to achieve our vision, met and exceeded every expectation and was very reasonable in price. My husband and I intend to work with Amy for all of our future events and continue to refer her to family and friends. She can be counted on to deliver the highest quality, exceptional service, beautiful design and all of this while maintaining our budget. Amy was AMAZING. We were going to work with Floramor in San Francisco, but Amy was a bit more flexible with us. I am a Caucasian and married an Indian (the India kind), so we went all-out and wanted a COLORFUL, flower-y celebration, and Amy did a STUNNING job. We built life-sized elephants stuffed with roses, and she strung thousands of marigolds and rose petals. She provided over forty HUGE arrangements all in one day. She even made flower necklaces for the horse my husband rode in on. Everyone commented that it was the most exquisite wedding they had ever attended, and it was all due to Amy's hard work. Amy is a consummate floral artist with excellent design sensibilities and all guests were floored by the decor: The chuppah (we co-designed with swags of beige fabric, pom-poms and lush roses) as well as the magical transformation of the Observatory at the Ritz with the embellished chandelier of twigs and glass lanterns and LUSH autumn centerpieces and trees everywhere. I was thrilled with the results. I do think she can improve communication and her service. She should check in with the venue once linens she has ordered have arrived as they got them wrong on my wedding day. She also should have assistants on hand for the bridal party (or come herself) to assist with the corsages and bouts and bouquets. It all should be simplified for the bride, lied out on a table so you don't have to scurry right before photos and find the flowers. I also thought the corsages were skimpy and added to ours at the last minute, so be sure to SEE all designs and sign off on them before your wedding.
