  Amazing experience!

  We met Annie at a bridal expo and immediately loved her personality and photography style. When so many wedding photographer's work look the same, Annie's stood out as unique and different, really capturing the event and it's unique moments. I am so glad we chose her! Leading up to the event, she was great with communication. Because we hired Annie before we chose the venue, it ended up involving travel, and Annie made that process as straightforward as possible. On the day of, Annie and Brett were fantastic. They were fun and fit in perfectly with our energetic family. It felt more like they were friends with cameras than hired photographers, so they were able to blend in with the guests without everyone feeling awkward. Even when we did the formal photos, they made it comfortable for everyone, which isn't easy! Our guests all commented that they loved Annie and Brett, and how well their energy mixed into our celebration. When we got our photos back, we were thrilled with what they had captured and the quality of the photography overall. The prints we received as part of our package were great quality as well. I could not be happier with Annie and we would highly recommend her and Brett for any photography needs!

  We love Annie and her photography!

  We were looking for a photographer who could really capture moments as they happened, with very little focus on the traditional style of staged photos. So we were very lucky to find Annie!
  
  She is super easy to work with. Before the wedding, she was communicative and professional, and guided us in creating a timeline that was perfect for us. On the day of our wedding, she was a fun and joyful presence, putting everyone at ease. We barely noticed her once she got to work, yet the photos show she was right there for all the best moments. And now we have so many wonderful photos to treasure and share.
  
  Annie put tons of talent and care into documenting such an important day for us. She has a real gift for capturing movement, energy, excitement, humor, love, emotion, and everything that makes a wedding special. We are grateful that Annie is a part of our wedding story, and highly recommend her!

  Just the best

  WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN! 😍 My husband, our families, bridal party, wedding guests, and I absolutely adore Annie and Brett. For starters, their photos are stunning. We searched far and wide to find wedding photographers whose work wasn't cookie-cutter. When we came across Annie Bang and Brett Butterstein's work, we knew we found the right people! On top of the final product being everything we wanted and more, Annie and Brett were just fun to be around and brightened an already great day. Couldn't recommend them more!

  The best photographer!

  Annie and her partner, Brett, did an amazing job shooting our Oct. 2020 micro-wedding. When we first reached out to Annie more than a year before our wedding, we didn’t even have a date yet, but we had seen her work online and wanted to meet with her to see if she would be a good fit. After chatting with us in a coffee shop for more than an hour, we left not only certain that we would love Annie’s work and approach, but also that we would really enjoy spending our wedding day with her! Although we initially hired her to photograph our wedding pre-pandemic, when we needed to make changes to our wedding date, location, and size, Annie was more than willing to still work with us, which was really important to us, because we definitely wanted Annie to be our photographer! Annie and Brett were so much fun to have around on our wedding day, and I think part of why our photos came out so great was having them there felt like being with just another friend or family member—but ones that so happen to be able to take amazing photos! They really captured all of the love and emotion of the day, and we are so glad that we will always be able to look back at these photos to remind us what a truly special day it was.

  Annie was (is) amazing! She is so incredibly friendly and fun to work with. My fiancé and I had an unusual location for our engagement shoot and she was so patient and accommodating while we were trying to secure it and work out the details. I can't wait to officially share our awesome pictures on the "Friends" set ;-) Thank you, Annie!!

We are so thankful for her artistic eye as well as her professionalism.   During the big day she was a member of the party who made work seem like fun. She even tagged along to the afterparty to catch my new husband literally dancing on bar tables (hello coyote ugly). The photos of our big day are timeless and radiate the authenticity and joy of each person in them.
  
  I consider Annie to be a creative genius, loving person and dear friend.

  Annie was amazing, so personable, and accommodating! We had an event that required a lot of "just roll with it" and Annie was on board for all of it! She really took her time to understand exactly what we wanted. We loved her and her assistant and so did all of our quests!

  After meeting with Annie for the first time, my husband and I knew we had to book her. She has such a delightful personality - so energetic and kind. Working with her was such a breeze! She always gave her honest opinion, which was so helpful because my husband and I had no idea what we were doing with the whole planning process. On the big day, she navigated my giant 270-person wedding with such ease. I was a little nervous that the family portraits would be hectic because I have such a large family, but she directed everyone so well and everyone loved her! Family portraits tend to get tedious and dragged out, but she kept people smiling and energy levels high.
  
  We just got our photos back (so fast!), and we absolutely love them. If you go to her website, the photos speak for themselves. Annie is an amazing storyteller, and she captured our wedding day perfectly. My husband and I are able to re-live all the excitement, jitters, and moments of pure joy from her beautiful photos. She even captured some moments that we didn't know she was there for! We can't thank her enough for the great work she did and highly recommend her for any important event. We will be enjoying her photos for years to come!

  Annie was an awesome photographer for our wedding. She put a lot of time getting to know me and my wife and incorporates our lives in the details of her photos. Taking photos usually feels awkward for me and my wife, but Annie really helped us feel relaxed during the whole wedding. She was incredibly accommodating and her prices were very reasonable. Several family members already have asked me for her contact information so they could use her for upcoming events as well. We would highly recommend Annie Bang for everyone's wedding!

  If I could give a million stars, I would. I found Annie Bang through endless internet searching for the perfect wedding photographer. My husband and I can be extremely awkward people, and neither of us particularly enjoy having our photo taken, so I knew I wanted someone with a photojournalist style that would capture us candidly without having to think about setting photos up. As one of my friends later commented on a photo she took, we found a unicorn in Annie Bang. She worked as hard as she could to help us feel at home both with her and in front of the camera beforehand, giving us tips, sending us articles, getting to know us enough to joke around and make us feel more comfortable. She is one of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever met, you just want to be around her. Her communication was always excellent and timely, she arrived early to the wedding, made all the obligatory family photos as quick and painless as possible, and in six weeks we got the most magical group of photos we have ever seen. Annie pours her soul into the photos, and it's obvious. She manages to see exactly what you want her to see but can't describe, and she captures it on film. When I look back at the photos, she got every one of the moments that my heart melted, and you can see it all over my face. The artistry is incredible, capturing moments where it looks like chandeliers are floating, or mid spin where it almost seems to move as you watch. We can flip through and remember every glorious moment of the night in perfectly edited technicolor. I can not recommend her enough, honestly. If you want someone who will capture your day not just the way you saw it, but the way you felt it, call Annie Bang. Best decision we could have made.

  Our experience with Annie Bang Photography was just phenomenal and far exceeded our expectations! We hired her to photograph our wedding on the beach. Quality is a rare gem and when you find it, you're so grateful to have been so lucky. We met beforehand to discuss our vision and to get to know her a bit so she could capture our personalities on the occasion. We felt so comfortable with Annie. She was easy to talk to and to discuss important matters with. She really wants to capture your event and make your day as unique and special to you as you know it should be. She was so lovely, very personable and friendly. She's got a fantastic eye and captured things we didn't even know she was seeing. Her professionalism made the process go smoothly. She outlines everything so there are no surprises and she is not the type that would ever try to spring something on you, without a doubt very trustworthy. We are a same-sex couple and needed to find someone of quality who was also comfortable with who we are. This was not a problem for her at all. Annie was very comfortable with us and sees love as love. She was even gracious enough to tackle the task of including pictures of our dogs on our big day.   Working with Annie as my photographer was one of my favorite parts of planning my wedding. From the beginning she was so sweet and easy to talk to. She offered to meet me wherever was convenient for me everytime we had to meet up. She also was very descriptive in the style of photography she does which was very helpful to ensure we had the same vision(non cheesy!). The day of my wedding she was so comforting to me around and extremely helpful(as was her assistant). My photos and album came out absolutely beautiful. I feel lucky to have had her as part of my team that day!

The day of my wedding she was so comforting to me around and extremely helpful(as was her assistant). My photos and album came out absolutely beautiful. I feel lucky to have had her as part of my team that day!

  Annie was fantastic to work with and her pictures exceeded my (very high) expectations. When we started wedding planning, Annie was at the top of our budget (although she’s very reasonable for wedding photography) but we loved her work so much we went for it. She graciously worked within the budget we had and was really generous and easy to communicate with.
  The day of the wedding she was prompt, personable and so much fun! I had multiple guests mention to me how hard-working and charming Annie and her assistant were. They were a perfect combination of keeping a low profile while somehow managing to be everywhere at once which is no small task for a wedding of 250. And the pictures! Out of this world. They caught REAL little moments that meant the world to me, like skyping with my grandfather or my parents cracking up at a toast. The pictures were all beautifully composed and full of emotion. Her fantastic eye allowed me to revisit the day and I think I cried more looking at the photos then I did at the wedding. Also, she’s just super fun and easy to communicate with which is huge. She really listened to me about my priorities and worked with us within our budget. I couldn’t be happier with her services.

  I spend a good amount of time researching for the right photographer for our wedding. I was looking for someone who could capture our special moments in a photojournalistic style. I wanted someone who could tell the story of our wedding through those fleeting moments. When I saw her pictures on her website, and read her profile, I thought I had found the one. After meeting with her, I knew I had found the one.
  
  Annie Bang Photography was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Annie has a fun, inviting personality, that draws you in. The photographer's personality can really affect the mood of the wedding party. She made even the shiest of the bridesmaids feel at ease. Our wedding was a bringing together of two different cultures, neither of them American, with two very different ceremonies. Annie was aware of cultural sensitivities, and navigated through both ceremonies with ease. She received rave reviews from our family and friends; which actually means something as she was with us from 4am to 10pm!!!
  
  As a businesswoman, Annie was always clear about expectations, and costs. We knew what we were getting and at what price. We never felt pressured by an 'upsell', in fact, she often suggested ways to keep costs fair and manageable. She was able to get the pictures back to us in 4 weeks, which was faster than even she had estimated! Many times, she went beyond what was expected of her in the contract.
  
  As a photographer, her website is a fair indication of what you can expect from her. Sometimes its not clear if a photographer's website is the photographer's best work, or typical work. Since our photos are of the same quality seen on her website, I suspect this is the quality she delivers at all times.
  
  In short, we couldn't recommend Annie more. Great personality, and great photography, all at a great price. My recommendation: Take a look at her website. If you like her photography style, then HIRE HER! You will NOT be disappointed.

  Amazing photograher with a wonderful eye

  TLDR: Annie is awesome and you should book her for a family documentary photo shoot because you will end up with the most amazing photos, ever.

  While I think styled family photoshoots can be great, I have always wanted to do a documentary-style shoot for a variety of reasons. For starters, my preschooler doesn't like to smile on demand for the camera so spending a ton of money on a photoshoot really wouldn't be worth it. Also, as a stay-at-home mom, I feel really wanted someone to capture all the little moments in our day (e.g., the snuggles, the tantrums, the story times, etc.).
  
  I found Annie out of sheer luck and booked her for a six-hour documentary-style family photoshoot on Mother's Day. She was really responsive leading up to the shoot (we communicated 100% via email).
  When she got to our house, she took the time to connect with our kiddo. She was warm and friendly, and made sure we were all comfortable. It ended up feeling like we were hanging out with a friend during the photo shoot.
  
  And...oh my God, I cried when I got the photos from her. They were so poignant and beautiful... she truly has a gift of documenting the little things that might seem like nothing at the moment but turns into a wonderful image that captures the soul of the family.

  Annie is a world-class photographer and person. It's rare to find that mix of incredible talent and a warm loving personality. As a coordinator, communication is critical and Annie was responsive, open, flexible, and worked incredibly well with my clients.   Working with Annie Bang as a wedding photographer was truly enjoyable. Annie made us feel like we were in the care of a professional at all times. Prior to our wedding shoot, but Annie made herself available through Skype. Annie asked thoughtful questions about what we wanted and was open and truthful about what she could do. Annie also took a keen interest in us as individuals and as a couple, which we thought came through in the final product. Annie really does take care to get to know the people whose wedding she is photographing. We held a small outdoor ceremony near Santa Barbara, and we were looking for a photographer that would capture more than posed moments and provide us with an honest and fulsome account of the day and all of our guests.
  
  On the day of the actual shoot, Annie and her assistant, Janey, did a great job staging some beautiful shots around Santa Barbara prior to the ceremony. To our pleasant surprise, Annie had also taken the time to scout the locations ahead of time and thus knew some of the best spots. Annie has a good eye and did not waste time trying this or that. When she saw something she knew could work, she put us into action! She is funny and calm, and not afraid to tell you when your pose is awkward. As a result, we ended up with several hundred beautiful photographs from a two hour shoot in three locations. Once it was time for the ceremony and reception, to be honest I forgot Annie was there. But when we saw the photographs afterwards, it was clear she had been very busy running around grabbing all of our guests in excellent candid shots.
  
  In sum, we could not be more pleased with Annie’s photographs, her personal attention, and her professionalism. She made the wedding photo experience far more fun than stressful, and she is highly recommended!

  Warning: I was born and raised in LA and I admit I can be a bit shallow at times. :)
  Honestly I was really worried when I read Annie's website where she said that she likes to tell the actual wedding story; I'm a lot bigger than I'd like to be and my now husband really is getting older. When I first met Annie for a consultation, I told her that I was looking for a photographer that could tell the story I wanted to tell: I'm not overweight and my husband is not losing his hair. (Just being honest. Pictures are the only things that tell the truth in the end right?! LOL! :P)
  When I got my wedding photos, I couldn't believe Annie's magic! She really made us look hot without compromising the story of our wedding day. She was so easy to work with. She is flexible with her style of photos. She took candid shots as well as "perfectly-posed" photos. I loved the mix of styles. I've been to a few weddings where the photographers were really visible and I was worried about that too, but Annie took ton of photos without being in the way. I didn't even really notice her or her team during the whole day. She is very friendly and easy going. All of my guests were raving about how good she was at getting the crowd excited and I felt the same way. I was so impressed with her work that u have already asked her to shoot family photos as soon as we are pregnant and when our baby is born. I would highly recommend her for any occasion and I would have paid triple to have such an artist shoot my wedding!
