  I can't even imagine what the wedding planning process would have been without Jharna. She is an absolute all-star when it comes to planning and carrying out weddings. We had a 480 person Indian wedding in Manhattan in addition to 5-6 smaller cultural events on Long Island and upstate NY. Jharna knows the industry very well and really helped us stretch our budget to accommodate all of the events without sacrificing quality. Not only did Jharna work to make sure we were happy as a couple, but she also spent a lot of time talking to our parents individually to make sure they were included and happy with the process, which I couldn't thank her enough for. She has a very unique ability to take in everyones ideas, no matter how different, and put them together in an elegant way. She became a part our family for the 9 months that we worked with her.
  
  Our wedding events were AWESOME! She made sure every plan and detail was carried out to the utmost perfection. We had an issue where one of our venues didn't allow some of the decor I wanted on the stairs, but she was able to trouble shoot and rearrange things last minute to look beautiful. I'm sure there were more things that came up, which they always do, but I would have no idea because Jharna and her team made it so that my family, my husband, and I were able to enjoy every minute of our wedding and not worry about any of the production details. We had full confidence in her ability to make everything work and keep inline with how we had envisioned the day.
  
  I could go on for days about our positive experience working with Jharna and Artistic Affairs. If you are looking for a planner who is knowledgable, dependable, always available, a good listener, and who will work day and night to make sure your wedding is everything you had hoped for, Jharna is your girl.

  These ladies were truly amazing. I can't state enough how much they worked to make our events perfect. The decor was astounding and their loving creativity made it all the more so. Anything I wanted to incorporate, they found a way to do it.
  
  On the day of, they were so dedicated to making sure everything went smoothly. I didn't know anything was going wrong until I was told by other family members in the months after! They learned my family members' names and addressed them as such, which was so nice and intimate.
  
  I recommend them without any hesitation.

  Jharna and her team were incredibly helpful in making sure our wedding went smoothly. They made sure all of our family members and guests were well taken care of, addressing their needs however possible, were able to make sure everyone was where they needed to be at the right time (not an easy task!), and that the weekend of wedding events went perfectly to plan! Jharna even learned the names of most of our family (and there were many!). She and her team were always so helpful and responsive, both before the wedding and during it, even bringing us speakers for when we wanted to keep celebrating in private hotel rooms after the reception! She and her staff were so incredibly helpful that we didn't have to worry about anything during the wedding - anything we thought of, they had already addressed. We are very grateful to have had Jharna to help with our wedding!

  I can’t speak highly enough about Jharna and her team at Artistic Affairs!! Six months after our wedding we’re still hearing from guests that our wedding was the best that they have ever attended. Our idea of the ideal wedding planner was someone who listened to what we wanted, had enough experience and contacts to guide us in our decision-making, and was organized enough to keep all of the moving parts working on schedule. Though we were happy to find all of those qualities in the AA team, we were most struck by the amount of enthusiasm and affection that went into their work.
  
  Throughout the wedding planning process, Jharna listened thoughtfully to what my husband and I, and both of our families wanted for the wedding, and creatively came up with ways to ensure that everyone felt represented and excited about their contributions to the events. We were on the West Coast while planning our wedding and Jharna was very helpful in maneuvering the challenges that came with that setup. She introduced us to a variety of high quality vendors that we could evaluate either remotely, or on our own timeline in person. She never pressured us to choose anyone in particular, helped us figure out ways to cut unnecessary expenses and guided us on what was worth investing in to keep things running smoothly. In the end we were very happy with all of our vendors and relieved by how easy AA made it to find them.
  
  Most profoundly, the AA team turned me from someone who spends most parties fussing over logistics, to someone whose only responsibility during the wedding was to show up. While expertly managing all of the vendors and insulating us and our guests from any problems that arose, the AA team doted on us throughout the wedding weekend. From keeping us fed, to rerouting the flow of the baraat so that I could sneak into the venue unobserved, to teaching my bridesmaids how to walk down the aisle in saris, there wasn’t a task too big or too small for them to take on.

  Jharna, this is long overdue but Michael and I can’t begin to thank you all enough for your hard work. Planning a destination wedding was not easy, but the process went so smoothly and the execution was incredible. Thank you for not only hearing all of our requests, but also doing your best to bring them to life! The decor and colors throughout all of the events were beautiful, our vision truly came to life. So many our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Thank you so much for making it the weekend of our dreams!!

  We met AA through my parents who had an internal reference. To begin, we thought she was great and was quite responsive initially, but after that things did not start clicking. For start, our wedding planner began doing things such as creating our wedding website without our input.
  
  She never really sat down and truly discussed what the bride and groom really desired and made it to true completion, she really was listening to many other people. There was a lack of organization, lack of initiative to make the bride and groom happy, and a lack of communication regarding her expectations of us. We made our expectations very clear multiple times. Her staff was not completely up to par and according to us and her "stretched too thin" which I think was the principal problems for our source of stress throughout and on the wedding day. From the bride and groom's side, we provided nearly every communication via email or phone. Her responses to us were cursory and she lacked initiative to talk to us, she didn't even make the effort to call us on her own to go over everything the week of the wedding.
  
  When we provided her a task, it would take a long time for completion or it would not be done. For example, we wanted meeting notes after each meeting (was provided sporadically). Vendors, she provided us with a list and did find us Mint and Elegant Affairs. She didn't really provide great feedback. We ended up choosing our own DJ who was experienced, but according to her ". . . I feel like they lack the finesse and experience for an upscale event such as yours. I would lean towards the more experienced vendors." That DJ turned out to be a great vendor for us.
  
  On the event days, a lot of snafus, sangeet stage was not used,our had to cancel our bridesmaids/groomsmen shoot due to her/and us being tired, our tables were not arranged properly, and reception tuxedo was lost for an hour. There were many more.
  Research your wedding planner thoroughly.

  I would not recommend Jharna as the wedding planner. She had no clue about what her staff was doing, nor did she know how to manage them. We as parents had to stay on top of everything. For example on the day of the wedding she did not bother to check the seating arrangements and to top it all - She asked my cousin to have her 10 year old kid to sit on his lap because she and none of her staff members bothered to check if the arrangement was according to the seating charts provided which we had spent hours on. We literally had some guests standing during the reception in the back of the banquet hall as a result. She is not detail oriented, her staff is novice, have no experience in managing an event and neither does she. Throughout the event planning, there were clues that she is not detail oriented, had no sense of urgency and simply has a laid back approach to everything and we just gave her the benefit of doubt. I would strongly recommend to not hire her as a wedding planner. She will add to the stress.

  TLDR: Jharna didn't show up. I have the distinct memory of looking up, Jharna saying she was going to run to Staples for 10 minutes at 11am- only to find out she never returned. Hours of phone calls and scheduling down the drain. Instead we faced hours of angst and anxiety due to her gross negligence and incompetence. There are 5 other reviews on this website, with 2 being negative. If you want to take a 33% chance Jharna and team will not come through - that's too large of a risk if you ask me. We write this review to warn you - that she could do to you, what she did to us.
  
  To be frank, the service given to us on the day of our wedding was not only terrible but incredibly unprofessional. We actually felt the service given to us in the 3 weeks prior, as part of the contract, was also very bad but had hope Jharna would redeem her and her team on the day of. Prior to the wedding, Jharna was not that responsive, with multiple days going in between before you got back to us.
  
  As soon as we realized Jharna had gone missing, my mother started texting her - no response. I asked Vinita multiple times where she was - she would not answer me. Words cannot correctly capture the anger and frustration Jharna caused that day for me, my parents, my in-laws, and our close friends and family. They were running all over the place to make up for Artistic Affairs' gross incompetence. She did a terrible job of preparing the schedule (in fact I had to create the schedule; I was still the main contact on the day of when the contract clearly stated she would take over that responsibility; she ignored all verbal commitments made over hours of phone calls with many witnesses; and overall the staff was incredibly rude. They treated my friends terribly - that to this day guests and bridesmaids alike have the same horrible, disrespectful impression.

  After reading the reviews I could not agree more about the competence of Jharna.
