Ashley from Ashley’s Sweet Beginnings is the vendor I was the most immediately sure of hiring from our first meeting, and we could not be more pleased with how amazing our wedding cake turned out and just how smooth the entire process went. I didn’t once worry about the cake, and I didn’t have to—Ashley knocked it out of the park!
Ashley was amazing to work with from the first email I sent to schedule a tasting. She was friendly, communicative, and so knowledgeable: I gave her some flavors we liked and she created some excellent combinations for us to try. When I wasn’t sure about our filling after deciding on the icing and cake, Ashley made a combination of cupcakes for me to buy to try out different flavors, and we settled on a lemon cake with sugar cookie frosting with lemon buttercream in two layers and raspberry mousse in the other two. (To be honest, any combo she suggested probably would have tasted great!) Flavor was the most important to me, and Ashley didn’t disappoint: the cake was delicious and moist and not too heavy, absolutely delectable.
Ashley is extremely knowledgeable about her work and was responsive every step of the way; I was unsure of how much cake we’d need for our guest count, and Ashley gave sound advice to help us decide how many layers to buy. When discussing the design, I was nervous because I only had a vague idea of what I wanted, but after pointing out a couple pictures I liked and describing the look I was going for, Ashley sketched out the perfect cake design with ease (first try!), and the result the day of was absolutely stunning.
Overall, Ashley was amazing to work with. She knows her stuff; is super personable and professional; has an excellent eye for design; and bakes exceptionally tasty cakes. Ashley is an amazing choice as your wedding baker! -

The best cakes you’ll find!
Ashley‘s sweet beginnings are top notch when it comes to flavor, presentation, artistic ability, and professionalism. We came to Ashley with some ideas and she brought everything to life and then more. We couldn’t decide on what flavors to choose so we ended up ordering three cakes and six dozen cupcakes. Everyone had a taste of everything and even took home leftovers. A week later our guests are still talking about our wide array of desserts and how delicious they were.
My husband and I are more than thankful to Ashley and her wonderful company for giving us an array of desserts that we’re not only delicious but gorgeous to look at. His grooms cake was better than I could have imagined. She even included cake pops to go with the design I chose for my husband.
This was basically the easiest part of wedding planning. They took care of everything delivered everything promptly and were so kind and communicated as much as I needed because of course I bugged Ashley with my questions and anticipation of the big day. She was sweet and helpful every time and always made me feel important.
You must choose Ashley‘s sweet beginnings when it comes to the desserts for your wedding. It’s impossible to go wrong with them and you’ll end up with a gorgeous cake or dessert. -

From the consultation, we knew we would be getting our wedding cake from Ashley's. The samples were delicious, and Ashley was an absolute pleasure and extremely easy to work with. Pricing was reasonable, the cake was delicious, and the custom topper was on point! Everyone said that the couple very much resembled us, and I agree! We recommend Ashley's Bakery to anyone looking to get just the right cake for any special occasion! -

We had an excellent experience with Ashley! And we were so happy to support a local woman who owns her own business. She's a total badass and made the whole thing super easy for us. We set up an appointment, went to her shop and tried 6 (six!!) delicious cupcakes of all varieties, and then talked for about an hour about what we wanted. She made us an absolutely beautiful 2-tier cake and decorated it with flowers the day of the wedding. It was delicious! Even though we ordered way more than we needed, I wish we could have still had more, it was that good. -

I’ve been so busy lately and have not had a chance to properly thank Ashley for my wedding cake and cupcakes. It was so beautiful and elegant and she created the image I envisioned. While at the wedding I was busy getting ready so I didn’t see her arrive. She came on time and the set up was beautiful!!! She created a 3 tier cake that fed 80 as well as 100 cupcakes for an amazing price!!! Ashley thank you so much for everything! -
Denise Sent on 07/14/2018Ashley is amazing! We met with the woman who does it all. She didn't charge us for the cake tasting. She send us some selections to choose what we're going to taste ahead of time.
We definitely found some favorites. We met with Ashley owner and designer and delt with her directly the entire time. She has a lot of different choices and was excited to work with us and make suggestions if we needed and conceptualize things that we thought of.
I had a pretty solid idea about silhouettes but I didn't see very many that she'd previously done in her portfolio. She offered to do a mockup over with real frosting for $60. I went for it and could not have been more pleased.
The price is right, the flavor was right, and the design was all right! She's very sweet to work with, very responsive, and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. -

The cutting cake was beautiful - the gold foil was perfect and matched our gold decorations perfectly. We cut the leftovers into slices and they're in the freezer waiting for us! We had a mini-dessert table for the rest of our 120 guests. The black bottoms were DELICIOUS, as were the macarons and pot de crème. I loved how the macarons matched the cake and decor as well with the gold paint strokes!
Total cost: ~$750 (includes small cake, 32 dozen mini-desserts, platter/tray rental)
Covid-19 Notes: I had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid-19 twice, and Ashley was able to accommodate our new dates both times, without hassle. -

Ashley was delightful to work with! All the flavors from the tasting were wonderful! It made our decision so difficult for all the right reasons! Our cake was gorgeous and delicious! I’m so happy we had some left over to be able to take home with us!! The only thing that made me nervous was that the cake was to be delivered by 2:15, but didn’t get there til just after 3:00. Still, it was perfect! I would definitely recommend Ashley to anyone looking for their wedding cake!!!
