User1623772 Sent on 05/19/2014Joey at Au Peche was great! He was super easy to work with and the final cake was exactly what my wife ha in mind for our wedding. He was also very cognizant of her dietary restrictions and still made a delicious cake. -
User1479913 Sent on 12/22/2013The cake was beautiful AND delicious. We ordered one of the bakery's standard, amazing cakes (the L'Opera) rather than a traditional wedding cake and it came out perfectly and exactly how we'd hoped. -

My fiance and I were so excited to get our wedding cake from Au Peche Mignon because we love their pastries and it's where we had our first date. I initially contacted them in the beginning of January to set up a tasting. A week went by and I didn't hear anything so I sent a follow up e-mail. Still nothing. I tried calling and no one who knew anything about wedding cakes was available to talk, so they said the manager would call me back. Nothing. Eventually I was able to call again and get in contact with him. I was hoping this conversation would make up for their lack of communication skills, but instead he gave me a bunch of excuses that they were "busy" and even admitted to ignoring my e-mails because he assumed our wedding date was much later (it was 5 months away). He told me we could do a take-home tasting because apparently they're too busy to meet with their clients and he didn't bother trying to make up for their horrible service previously. I decided we would give them a second chance since we really wanted our cake from here and we agreed to an absurdly over-priced cake tasting (which I realized later was a huge mistake).
My fiance and I tried the cake and it was really great. We decided to go ahead and purchase our wedding cake from them (again, huge mistake). I emailed the manager again letting him know the details of our wedding and that we wanted to order our cake. Again, a week goes by and I hear nothing. My fiance calls and they say they'll call him back when the manager gets in. Nothing. I call a week later, and I get the same lie that they will call me back. I lost track at this point, but I think my fiance and I both called one more time until my fiance finally got a hold of the manager. He told him that we wanted a refund for our cake tasting and the manager very reluctantly gave us a full refund. I used to love this pastry shop but I was so disappointed in their lack of professionalism they will never be getting my business again.
