    Delicious Cakes!

    Aunt B provided the cakes for my daughter's wedding on 10/29/22. She made a small two tiered cake for cutting and then 3 sheet cakes that we had cut for guests. The carrot cake is to die for! But we had fans of all three at the wedding....Lemon poppy seed and Chocolate with chocolate espresso buttercream. Excellent bakery!!

    Most Amazing Wedding Cake

    Aunt B's made us the most delicious wedding cake! One of our favorite parts of wedding planning was the food and cake tasting day! Ann had my husband and both sets of our parents over for a tasting. We tried 4 different cakes and had the hardest time deciding because they were all SO good. Not only are the cakes amazing, so is Ann - she made us feel welcome and the entire process went so smoothly. We finally decided to go with a white cake with fresh strawberries and vanilla buttercream, it was the best cake I've ever had (I still think about it today)!

    Best wedding cake I have ever had! Aunt B’s delivered exactly what my husband and I were wanting for our wedding! We went with a rustic themed wedding and had Ann from Aunt B come through with the perfect birch log cake with each different delicious layer making you go back for more! I would highly recommend anyone looking for that one of a kind cake to give Ann at Aunt B’s a call!! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!!

    Best Baker in Northern Michigan!

    I had the pleasure of recommending Ann of Aunt B's Cakes for my couples this year as a wedding planner, and was so excited when they attended their tasting and came back with rave reviews!

    Ann is known for being one of the best bakers in our region, with an incredibly broad array of flavors, styles, and additional desserts available for every type of wedding. She was able to provide my couple with custom gluten free and dairy free cakes in the flavors of their choice, and worked with us to create an intricate style for their main cake. Her service is exceedingly professional, and communication with Ann throughout our ordering and delivery process was a breeze. She is one of the easiest vendors to work with on your wedding day,very responsive, and her cakes and desserts are one of the most memorable parts of your guest's experience. Thanks Ann for a great season!

    We booked Ann based on recommendations for our reception venue without even tasting her cake. One of the best decisions we've ever made! We went to the Homestead for our tasting event where Ann was present and has previously made an appointment with her after to taste some cakes we requested. Since she knew we would be there, she made a cake for every one there that we didn't previously request for our meeting after. We ended up making that our main cake because it was SO INCREDIBLY GOOD! We receivable many compliments that every cake flavor we chose was the best cake they've ever tasted. We had almond cake with fresh berries (my personal favorite), almond cake with vanilla Bavarian cream, and lemon lavender poppy seed caked with lemon curd. Mmmm makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

    We got married at the Homestead this past August and Ann made our cake - it was perfect and super yummy! We are from Chicago and chose to get married in Northern Michigan, so we worked with Ann mainly via email. I sent her pictures of what I wanted and she made the exact cake that I sent her :)

    Ann is a preferred vendor at the Homestead and we actually got to sample her cakes when we were up at our venue for our tastings. We were originally planning on booking a different baker, but after trying Ann's cakes and realizing how much closer she was to our venue, we changed our minds and went with Ann which proved to be a great decision.

    I've attached a picture of the cake because it was beautiful. The flowers were provided by our florist, Bloom Floral Design. The cake had two flavors - banana cake with cream cheese frosting and then poppyseed cake with fruit filling. It was delicious!

    I couldn't recommend Ann highly enough! When we set up our cake tasting, she let us choose which flavors we wanted to try and made us mini cakes of each flavor when we arrived, which immediately impressed us. We decided to work with her not only because her cakes were the best we tasted, but because she was just so lovely to talk to. She made planning from out of state a breeze, and delivered us the most delicious, beautiful cake.

    We recently got married in Glen Arbor, MI and chose Aunt B's for our wedding cake vendor, and are so happy we did! Ann has a large selection of delicious cakes, fillings, and frostings to choose from and was very helpful during our tasting session. My favorite was lemon poppy seed lavender with lemon curd and almond butter cream, so good!! Ann was easy to communicate with and delivered delicious, beautiful cakes...she even arranged the wedding cake with flowers and succulents that we provided at the venue. Highly recommend.

    OMG I loved our wedding cake! It was the most delicious cake I have ever had. We did cake and cupcakes and it turned out amazing. Still dream about how good it all tasted! Thank you Anne!

    Anne did an amazing job on our wedding cake! Our venue was Frog Pond Village and we threw so many non-traditional, random thoughts and requests at her (camo incorporated, gold color cake, succulents, flowers, etc) it should have been a mess, but it turned out so beautifully! The cake really incorporated every aspect of our theme and we received endless compliments on it! Highly recommend the raspberry cake, so yummy!

    We used Aunt B's for our wedding cake in August at Frog Pond Village. Ann is amazing to work with! We had somewhat of an unusual request and she was able to come through with flying colors! Our cake turned out absolutely perfect! Not only did our cake look amazing but many of our guests made a point to tell us it was the best tasting wedding cake they have ever had. We had two different flavors for our cake: lemon poppy seed with raspberry filling with whipped cream cheese frosting and white cake with cherry filling and almond buttercream frosting. Our whole wedding was great but out of everything we had our most compliments on our cake!

    Aunt B's Cakes was one of the best things decisions we made for our wedding. Cake tasting in her kitchen was a blast and one of my favorite memories from wedding planning. We had three layers and each one was a different cake and frosting flavor. I gave her a picture of how I wanted my cake to look and she recreated it perfectly. I still get comments from guests on how amazing our cake tasted.

    Aunt B made a grooms cake for our wedding and it was amazing! She did a cooler with beer bottles and our two dogs next to it. It was so realistic. The cake was the talk of the reception and so many people took pictures of it. Plus it was delicious! We had the chocolate and it was so rich and yummy. Ann was easy to work with and the result was better than I could have imagined.

    Ann Barraclough was an absolute delight to work with. She is extremely personable, has an extensive collection of cakes to show examples of, and really spends the time necessary to come up with the creation you're looking for with your wedding cake. The cake was delivered in perfect shape to our wedding, and was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! It was a work of art :)

    She even got us rotating layers on the cake with different flavors and they were exceptional. She worked with our Florist as well to add in some surface decorations which made it look perfect. The day we had the wedding was EXTREMELY hot and even with that the cake withstood the heat and kept its shape till the very end. She was priced well within our budget so we didn't break the bank to hire her talent. She's a true professional and knows what she's doing!

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!

    It might seem silly to say that the cake was the part of the reception that I was looking forward to the most, but after our tasting with Anne, I could not wait for the cake cutting!!! She personalized our tasting, and her cakes are the best I have ever had - and I don't even like cake. Our cake looked exactly as I had hoped, even though I didn't even have a picture for her to work from, just a verbal description. Easiest vendor to work with out of all of my vendors. Anne is the best!!!

    PS - ask to try her almond buttercream frosting!

    I was married in Manistee, MI this past August and had the privilege to work with Ann Barraclough, who made the most glorious-looking, and best-tasting wedding cake I've ever beheld. Our first meeting with Ann at her baking studio went smoothly and deliciously! Ann baked many miniature cakes for myself, my fiance, and mom to try and we sampled them all with relish. Ann was organized, helpful, and able to recognize the artistic vision I had for the cake. Each flavor we tried was unique, expertly crafted, and a complete departure from the standard, sub-par, box-mix cake usually served at weddings. Beyond the rich, moist and decadent taste of her cakes, simply looking at the other stunning creations patiently waiting to be delivered was a treat. Following our meeting, we exchanged a series of emails further detailing the design of the cake, the amount of people it had to feed, the specific proportion of frosting we required (lots!), and we also chose to add a variety of tarts by Ann to our desserts. Ann remained in contact with me until the day of the wedding and I felt completely confident in her abilities and professionalism. When my wedding day finally arrived, I was breathless at the sight of the cake. Ann exceeded my expectations and created an absolute vision, layering paper thin fluttering fondant to seem like ruffles tipped upside down, floating effortlessly upwards. As delicately beautiful as the cake was, I find it hard to say anything could have been better, but the taste was even more heavenly. Ann is not only an artist, but a true baker and her quality of work is evident in every aspect of her product. Ann delivers truly sumptuous desserts enveloped in flawless packages. I cannot possibly recommend her enough.

    Delicious cake and beautifully done! If we were able to give more than 5 stars we would!

    There was a miscommunication of expectations since the wedding planner was the go-between. After this issue was discovered (i.e. type of flowers that we requested and type that was communicated to Aunt B's), they worked with us to fix the issue after the wedding planner washed her hands of the issue.

    Ann was amazing! She let us do 2 tastings and ended up making a groom's cake from our recipe instead of hers (my groom was being silly)! The cake was delivered and setup with no issues. Was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing. So many people asked me who made it. Ann was great to work with, she uses email and responds VERY quickly. Couldn't have asked for more from our cake lady!!

    Update: A friend of ours did a cute little video of moments from our wedding and recently presented it to us. When we go to cut the cake, the person that was filming the video actually says "Oh! I thought it was fake". Her cakes are both beautiful and very tasty!

    Aunt B's was great! The cake was phenomenal (looking and tasting as well). We both agree that our cake was over and beyond in taste than any cake we've had at a wedding before. I'd definitely recommend her!!

    Ann made an awesome cupcake display for my wedding. Not only was the cake delicious, but the display was better than I could have ever imagined! She arranged the cupcakes on these pieces of natural wood to match the rustic theme of my wedding. Thanks Ann!
