Can't say enough wonderful things about our wedding experience at Bacchus! We planned our wedding swiftly in only 4 months, and the entire team at Bacchus made the whole process very easy and straight-forward. The coordinator Meryl gave us a walk-thru of the space on our first visit and continued to communicate with us via email very promptly and thoroughly throughout the entire process.

We chose Bacchus because we wanted a restaurant that could accommodate a medium-sized party, and luckily for us they had availability and very reasonable rates for our winter wedding. We requested cocktail-style food service instead of sit-down dinner, and the food and wine selections were amazing. We especially enjoyed getting to sample all of the selections and wine pairings a few weeks before the wedding, and we felt that they truly catered to what we wanted. We utilized the backyard space for the ceremony and truly lucked out with it being an unexpectedly warm December day with lots of sunshine. We didn't need to bring in much decor because Bacchus already had such a lovely aesthetic throughout the restaurant. Being a couple who wanted a low-fuss, simple, all-in-one place experience for our wedding, Bacchus provided the perfect vibe with a focus on great food, wine, and a beautiful environment for our guests to mingle freely.

Day of Meryl and the staff assembled flower vases and provided candles, tablecloths, etc. They were even able to accommodate our request to start at 3pm even though it was between their brunch and dinner service, and they moved swiftly to arrange everything very seamlessly in time for the wedding to start. Our guests all had wonderful things to say about the service throughout the entire event.

Our wedding experience at Bacchus was exactly what we were looking for, and we look forward to dining there for years to come.

My now husband and I were first going to have a small elopement ceremony but then decided we wanted to have a bigger celebration with family and friends. Bacchus caught our eye due to the stellar reviews, food options and reasonable pricing for Brooklyn. We reached out to Bacchus in October and was able to plan our wedding for December 20th. Meryl was an absolute delight to work with. We live out of state but Meryl made the planning so easy and was so quick to respond to any questions we had. Our guests keep raving about the food and what a different and beautiful experience it was for a wedding party. We are so grateful to Meryl, the chef and incredible staff for making out night so beautiful! Bacchus will forever have a special place in our hearts.

Bacchus is the best venue to have an amazing, intimate Brooklyn wedding! My husband and I got married here on 10/4/24 and everything turned out wonderful, better than I could have ever dreamed. When looking for wedding venues, Bacchus was the first place I went to see and the search was over after that. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy, charming, & full of character with an inviting outdoor garden.

Meryl, the event coordinator, is not only professional and incredible at her job but she is also kind, warm, calm, and collected. She was so responsive throughout the entire wedding planning process, recommended excellent vendors for music & photos- that we used and were also great choices! Thanks to her suggestions, expertise, and her talent, she coordinated everything on the day of perfectly. She made the day completely stress-free for us. We are truly grateful for her and all of the staff at Bacchus who made our special day as lovely as it was. The staff members are knowledgeable, kind, and work so well together as a team- always making us and our guests feel comfortable. The love and care the team has for this restaurant speaks volumes to the specialness of Bacchus.

We had 60 people at our wedding and rented the two gardens & the bistro. Plenty of space for all our guests to enjoy our ceremony, amuse bouche, an incredible 4 course dinner with great wine selections, and a night of dancing! We got married on a beautiful, sunny day but rain or shine Bacchus is prepared with awnings to cover their garden areas! Our family & friends had a great time and raved over the food & intimacy of the wedding. My husband & I were initially going to elope, but we are so thankful we chose Bacchus who created one of the most memorable days of our lives. Looking forward to anniversary dinners & "just because" brunches and dinners there for years to come!

We held our ceremony and reception at Bacchus for our intimate (70 person) wedding back in April - and my husband and I (along with our guests) had a wonderful experience.

Our planning period was around 6-7 months, and the whole process was fairly easy and low-key. I researched other restaurants/venues in Brooklyn, and it was the most affordable/had the best value out of all the options we looked into.

We met with Meryl (the Bacchus coordinator) a few times and she was great to work with. We went in for a tasting, and the food was incredible.

On the day of, the weather was unexpectedly awful and extremely windy, and Meryl and the Bacchus crew were able to seamlessly adjust the seating last minute.

The venue itself is lovely, so we didn't have to do much for decorations and just ordered flowers for the tables. The wine bar section just got renovated literally a day or two before our wedding - and it was beautiful!

We highly recommend Bacchus as a wedding venue!!

We couldn't have dreamed a better place to get married. We, big-event neophytes with questionable abilities, were in such good hands with Meryl, who was calm, kind, knowledgeable, flexible, and responsive as the wedding took shape over time. She was an enormous help—she put us in contact with all kinds of vendors (flowers, photographer), she helped us with the seating, the menu, the printing of table lists, etc etc etc, all those things you do not (I hope) think of when you propose to each other.

The space? Beautiful, spacious, flexible in all weathers. For us it drizzled; it did not matter. The awnings are great and create an intimate vibe. Didn't even notice them. The space is flexible, has a lot of room for different permutations.

The service? Perfect! Meryl and the team made everyone feel at home. Khaza, wine master and charmer, was a delight to work with.

The food? Fabulous. Everyone loved it, said it was among the better wedding food they'd ever had. People keep talking about it. Trust Guillaume. He is the real deal.

Go with Bacchus! They are divine!

This place is absolute gold! My now-husband and I had our wedding here in September. The whole thing was incredibly last minute, as we had to suddenly switch venues due to space issues. It turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Our wedding, on a Friday during the day, for around 75 people, was such a lovely experience.

Even though we were working with a deadline of less than two months (!!) everything turned out perfectly, if not better than expected.

Meryl, the events manager, is incredible. She jumped on everything immediately -- providing a contract, menu options, seating chart information. The whole planning process was so easy and seamless. She and her staff have thought of everything already, so all we had to do was communicate our preferences.

Some of our event required a little prep onsite the day before (we had a freestanding chuppah that needed to be set up and decorated), and not only did they accommodate us being there the day before to do that, the staff moved the structure the morning of the ceremony and accommodated storage during the remainder of the event. I ordered bulk flowers for delivery the day before and the staff prepared them and supplied the bud vases for the table, saving my friend and me lots of time. Sound system is great, including an available mic for the ceremony and speeches. While a DJ is always nice, it doesn't feel necessary at this venue if you prepare a great playlist. Meryl will make sure the music is timed as it should be.

The setup for the ceremony is just so stunning with the cafe chairs, greenery and string lights.

The food is really excellent. I don't know how their kitchen manages to get out a perfectly timed, muti-course, high-quality meal to so many people. It is really impressive and our guests couldn't stop raving about the food.

I think Bacchus is so great for weddings because of the professional dedicated staff, but also, because they have smartly set up their restaurant and outdoor spaces with ample flexibility that allows couples to personalize their event without working too hard to do so.

Anyone looking for an intimate, elegant, delicious, affordable, and beautiful wedding in Brooklyn need not look any further. I wish I could do it all over again! Thanks again to Meryl and her staff, for one of the best days of my life!

Bacchus was a spectacular venue for our wedding. We and our guests had a great evening. Meryl, the events coordinator, is great to work with. Before the wedding, she was very receptive to the ideas we had and had a lot of practical suggestions herself. Conversations with her were comfortable and gave us so much confidence; her expertise was clear. She coordinated with all of our vendors seamlessly and ran the day of events smoothly. We had some last-minute weather concerns. Meryl and her whole team were extremely flexible and able to adjust on the fly such that none of our guests realized we were operating with a backup plan. The food and wine at Bacchus is great. We got a lot of compliments from our friends and family. The process for selecting our menu/wine was easy. While they do not serve liquor at Bacchus, they did allow us to bring our own. The venue itself is beautiful. Due to rain, we weren’t able to use the front garden for dinner, but we were still able to get married under their tree. 

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Bacchus Bistro, and would choose them a thousand times over. We were initially interested in Bacchus because they have an awesome outdoor garden area that has a roof (and optional clear sides) AND the space still feels very outdoorsy, so that in case it rains and/or is windy, you can still use the space and have the garden-vibe. We did a ton of research and honestly couldn't find any other places in Brooklyn that had an outdoor area with a roof in case it rained but that also still felt outdoorsy. Guests kept telling us how nice the space was. But given the temperature was in the high 50s, we only did drinks in the outdoor space, and we had the dinner in the private dining room. Guests were raaaaaaaving about the food. Seriously, flawless food. Tuna tartar, roasted eggplant, hanger steak, salmon, lasagna-- all perfect!!!!! Every single dish was a 10/10. This was no surprise because, when my partner and I got dinner here before, our meals were also amazing, but we were so happy hearing everyone else complimenting Bacchus on the food too. We feel like Bacchus is a small hidden gem in Brooklyn, not super well known, but has incredible food, space, and vibes that make it deserve way more hype/recognition than it gets. Meryl was also a pleasure to work with. SO easy to work with, very meticulous and on-top of things, and super easy to communicate with in the months/weeks leading up to the dinner.

I would 100% choose Bacchus if I had to do my wedding all over again :). We did a full buyout in March of 2024. Guests raved about the food. I loved how intimate it could feel for 60 guests. The ceremony was planned for outdoors under the covered patio and it still happened despite just straight downpour. It still had party vibes after dinner with a dj. Meryl and staff were attentive to guests. I never felt like the vendor was trying to hide prices or trick into hidden fees, which just made everything feel so open and I could communicate questions/concerns with Meryl. It was all so great.

We held our wedding at Bacchus in June 2024. It was perfect - everything I could’ve dreamed of! I found Bacchus when looking for a more affordable venue in NYC - with Bacchus, you really get a good bang for your buck! We rented the entire restaurant out for our ceremony and reception. We had 100 guests with a live band. Bacchus is such a beautiful space on its own - we provided a minimal amount of flowers but we didn’t need much else as it shines on its own! Meryl was so helpful leading up to the wedding, and day of was a huge assist. There was a slight chance of rain, but she helped arrange the seating so that everyone could still be in the same area. She even helped me zipper my outfit at one point! The food was incredible - many people told me it was the best food at a wedding they’ve ever had! The service was impeccable, too - the servers moved seamlessly in and out during speeches and no one’s wine glass was ever empty! The reception after dinner was a blast - it felt like a fun, intimate house party. The only bummer was that the night ended! I would highly recommend hosting any event here.

We cannot express enough how ecstatic we were with Bacchus hosting our wedding. This was the absolute best decision we could have made. Not only were they extremely affordable with highly competitive pricing for the area, but the quality of the food, treatment, service and venue was unbeatable. Our dream Brooklyn wedding was made a reality (in only 8 months!) because of Bacchus.

The staff were phenomenal and went above and beyond. Each and every one of them. They were completely hands on every step of the way and covered every detail, even the ones we didn’t think of. Our decor was assembled and put up for us. All the drinks we wanted were served. Every allergy (and there were many) was perfectly accommodated. The wine selection was top tier! Thank you, Kaza! And the food!! Wow! Chef’s kiss. Our guests continue to talk about it to this day.

The space is so minimalistic, beautiful and rustic. Very little needed to be added to complete our vision. We were even supplied with a beautiful cage for our cards so we did not have to buy our own. My guests were so well taken care. WE were so well taken care of! They were with us every step of the way and with the best and kindest attitudes, it’s almost hard to believe.

A very special thank you to Meryl for her leadership, kindness, attention to detail and cool control. Her support was truly priceless and allowed us to just be present on our special day. We could not recommend Bacchus more. Truly. A million thanks and a lifetime of memories made. We’ve shared some of our favorite pictures to reflect our deep gratitude.

We did a buyout of Bacchus's wine room (for cocktail hour) and dining room (for dinner) to celebrate our elopement with our friends and family. It was an intimate affair with only 37 of us dining that evening and was an absolutely perfect evening, from the food, the drinks, the coordination, music and more. Meryl, who worked with us to plan our event, was incredible and made our vision for the evening come true.

Planning & Coordination: Meryl was fantastic. She was attentive in talking through our plans for the evening and flexible with accommodating any special asks for the evening to really make the event special for our guests. She was especially helpful in figuring out the right seating arrangement for our guests to ensure that the room felt connected and cohesive. Communication was so easy and all the final planning in the days leading up to the event was done so effortlessly that when the day came, there was nothing to worry about. We were able to enjoy the evening with our guests.

Food: Excellent. Our guests LOVED the food. We served the meal family style so everyone had a little bit of everything. We have friends that are saying they'll go back for dinner soon.

Staff: The staff was amazing, they were attentive and well-coordinated. Everything flowed so well.

Atmosphere: It was a really sweet, intimate, romantic evening. We had lots of candles everywhere (both supplied by myself and Bacchus) and it made the room look so beautiful.

If you ever need to host an intimate dinner in Brooklyn, I highly recommend inquiring with Bacchus. Or if you just want to have a delicious dinner (or brunch), definitely go too! I cannot wait to go back.

We had our wedding at Bacchus and cannot recommend the venue and the entire team highly enough! The venue was beautiful and worked perfectly for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. Meryl, the event coordinator, was amazing to work with-- very experienced, helpful and responsive. Khaza, the sommelier, helped us choose the wines and even had a call with us a month or so before the wedding to go over everything. The food was delicious and the service was flawless, including specially dealing with food allergies in a way that put our mind at our ease. The bartenders were great during the reception. We are so thankful that we had our wedding at Bacchus and love everyone that helped pull it off!

Bacchus was absolutely perfect in every way. The entire staff was professional and kind, but Meryl in particular was a pleasure to work with. She went above and beyond at every turn in helping us plan and execute whatever we wanted for our wedding day. She was easy and fun to work with and made the day of the wedding seamless and everything we wanted. The service isn't the only great thing about bacchus; the food is incredible. It has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants. The hardest part about choosing the menu was narrowing down between all the great options - something they helped us do by arranging multiple tastings. Lastly, the space itself is beautiful, original, and a great place for a wedding. We really can't say enough positive things about our experience with Bacchus. Look no further - you have found the right place.

Could not speak more highly of Meryl and the team at Bacchus. Meryl was so wonderful to work with - everything from the first visit to the final check in was easy, fun and stress free. She has a million things going on, but always made us feel like her priority. The vibe as a whole down to the details were perfection. The team seamlessly moved the space around from ceremony to dinner to dancing - they were always a step ahead. And the food! Giving our guests a great meal was important to us and the kitchen crew did not disappoint- everyone raved about the selections, portions, and quality. We highly recommend Bacchus as a wedding/event venue. My partner and I had an amazing wedding celebration at Bacchus in May 2023. Everyone could not stop raving about the beautiful space, savory food, or how intimate the event felt. The celebration went off without a hitch, due in large part to Bacchus’ event coordinator, Meryl, and her team. From the beginning, when we first inquired about holding the event at Bacchus, Meryl was extremely responsive. During the first meeting, she walked us through the restaurant, including the interior wine bar and two outdoor courtyards, described how the event could be set up, and answered all our questions. We stayed in close touch in the months leading up to the wedding to plan all the details and Meryl invited us to Bacchus for a wine and food tasting before finalizing the menu. Although we were already excited for the celebration based on the outdoor space and how easy Meryl made the planning, the food was the real clincher. We’ve attended far too many weddings with overcooked steak and lackluster fish entrees, but Bacchus’ chef showed that would not be the case with our celebration.

When the wedding day arrived, we luckily had a sunny day (though Meryl assured us there would be outdoor coverage and more interior space in case of rain). In total, we had about 100 guests. Since we legally married at the courthouse the day prior, we launched straight into the celebration. We first hosted a cocktail hour in the wine bar with passed hors d’oeuvres, before everyone sat down in the courtyards for a four-course dinner. After that, we brought in a DJ for dancing inside the restaurant. Meryl helped coordinate the night perfectly; she was seamless in switching our music playlists during cocktail hour and dinner, providing a microphone set-up and accommodating time for speeches, and making sure that her staff were attentive throughout the entire evening. She decorated the restaurant and tables beautifully and even set up pictures, plants, and other décor and items like gift boxes that we had dropped off the day before. The four-course meal tasted just as great as it did during our tasting and received high compliments all around (the escargot, butternut squash tortellini, and steak with wild mushrooms were to die for). Meryl also ensured that the kitchen was able to provide kids meals for the few little ones that we had in attendance. The staff were diligent in making drinks and filling wine glasses and, overall, provided excellent service. We truly had the perfect, memorable evening for our magical occasion. For that reason, we would 100% recommend Bacchus for a wedding or event without any reservations.

We held the rehearsal dinner for my son and his fiance on May 19th at Bacchus restaurant. We live in Virginia, but Meryl at Bacchus made the planning and execution of the event seamless. The wedding was at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens so we wanted a venue in Brooklyn that could accommodate up to 45 people. Bacchus fit our needs. We could not have been happier with our choice. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Bacchus for a rehearsal dinner or a wedding venue.

We had our wedding reception for ~50 guests at Bacchus in September 2022 and could not be more happy with the evening. When wedding planning we were looking for a space that was outside to minimize covid risk, had good food, allowed a DJ/dancing, wouldn't require a ton of planning on our end, and wasn't outrageously expensive -- a laughably impossible task in Brooklyn until we found Bacchus. The garden at Bacchus is pretty at first sight but when you see it glowing and set up for a wedding it is truly stunning. Our wedding celebration was pure magic and our guests continue to rave to us about the night, the food, and how much fun they had. Meryl and Bruno are a dream team and have done countless weddings. Meryl made it easy for us to scale things up and down as we saw fit. She and her staff followed our requests seamlessly and set up the decor that we brought in (e.g., candles, lanterns, flowers) exactly as we asked saving us the expense of bringing in an outside vendor to set up. No task we brought to Meryl was too big or too small and everything about the evening went smoothly -- there was no need for us to bring in a wedding planner or even day of coordinator (however, we didn't have a ceremony so our event didn't need too much coordination). The staff is wonderful, attentive, and truly cares about carrying out a beautiful event. We are eternally grateful that we found Bacchus.

We had the BEST experience working with Meryl and the whole team at Bacchus. The venue is beautiful, the food is incredible and we were so happy to have an intimate, accessible space in downtown Brooklyn to host our wedding, without breaking the bank. Meryl is a brilliant event coordinator and will help you with any and all details, from table design to seating chart to getting people organized to walk down the aisle. Bacchus is the perfect place to host a small wedding (under 100), I highly recommend working with them!

We live in the neighborhood and wanted an NYC wedding with incredible food and plenty of dancing. It was shockingly hard to find a venue that checked both of those boxes but wasn't either absurdly expensive or way too casual—until we realized a restaurant we already loved going out to dinner at also hosted weddings! We rented 2 of the 5 possible spaces (outdoor + indoor) at Bacchus for our June wedding of about 45 people. They could not have been more lovely! We didn't ask for much, but it really seemed like whatever we wanted to make happen, they would have helped us figure out how to do it. They were very laid-back, flexible, and kind in the planning phase and then ran a tight ship on the day (which is exactly what we hoped for). The food is delicious—not just good for wedding food; legitimately great food—and there's lots of it! Guests got to choose from multiple delicious options, there were multiple courses, and the chef accommodated anyone with dietary restrictions. We asked if they would serve a late-night snack, and they made yummy little BLTs for us, but no one ate them because they were still full from the fabulous dinner! We brought decorations and set them up ourselves an hour or two before the ceremony, and they even held onto them overnight so we could go home and crash and come back the next day to pick them up. We bought an open bar package for beer + wine and everyone had a full glass all night long.

The wedding industry is ridiculous and often predatory, and Bacchus doesn't stoop to that level. They're honest. What they quoted us is *exactly* what they charged us on the day—not a penny more. They don't add on fees for bringing in your own cake, they don't tack on an hourly rate past a certain point. It's so straightforward: you get this many spaces, until midnight, with this amount of food and wine. The portions were generous and everyone was so nice to us and our guests. We appreciated their transparency and integrity so much, because 99% of venues get lecherous about pricing and hidden fees. That alone is enough to make us want to hold events there in the future and recommend it to everyone!

One thing to note is there isn't anywhere with good enough lighting to do hair and makeup, so make sure to get that done before you arrive. You can get dressed there, and we did, but the interiors are a bit dark—lovely for moody photos, not so great for makeup. It's not a wedding factory, which means it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a full-service venue (no designated dressing room/bridal suite, no Type-A wedding planner who is going to put up all your decorations, etc.) but that also means you're interacting with actual human beings who run a small business and don't participate in the gross side of the industry. To me, that is well worth doing makeup at home. Meryl even came to find me to remind me to eat when she realized it was almost time to serve dessert and I'd been pulled away to talk to people! We would recommend Bacchus to anyone looking to host a celebration with great food and wine, for a price that isn't twice your annual salary. We'll come back for regular date nights just to eat their steak frites again and say hi to everyone who made our wedding the best day we can remember :)

I got married 2021 but the original day was in 2020. Since Covid was on the rise, we had to postpone. Meryl was very flexible about this among other things that i had requested. it was a very stressful time to plan a wedding and i had a ton of questions because everything was just so unclear during this time but meryl was very patient with me to answer all of them. i made all my own decorations and Meryl and her team were very helpful in installing them. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue is just super cozy and adorable. It rained during dinner time but Meryl and her team were very quick to adjust the tables. My guests had no problem with the rain and the adjustments because the service was excellent. We danced the entire night even if the AC was not working and it was quite muggy. We even danced with Meryl and her staff at the end! It was in all good fun! It was such a memorable wedding! Thank you Meryl and Staff! You truly made my wedding day come to life!

There are not enough words to describe the amount of gratitude and appreciation we have for all of the staff at Bacchus Bistro for making our wedding such a beautiful and magical night! It’s rare you go to a wedding and remember the food! All of our guests kept raving about how amazing the food was and how friendly the staff was. Bacchus went above and beyond our expectations in every way possible. They were phenomenal, especially Meryl, to work with from the start! I highly recommend them for any special event! They take true pride in their food, service, and hospitality!

Our wedding at Bacchus was perfect. I don't think there's any other venue in the five boroughs that can host such an amazing small-to-medium wedding at such a reasonable price. The courtyard was romantic, and many of our guests told us the food was the best they had ever eaten at a wedding. Meryl and her team were professional and took care of us at every step of the way.

Bacchus hosted our August 2021 rehearsal dinner, and we could not be happier with how things went. Meryl and Bruno know exactly what they’re doing, and the event went perfectly—the food was fantastic, the garden was beautiful, the waiters were very attentive (no empty wine glasses!), and they were incredibly accommodating with our various last-minute requests and questions. They also did a wonderful job setting up the space; the lights and draping in the back garden felt magical, and they set up the flowers, linens, and decorations beautifully.

I lived around the corner from Bacchus for five years and it was always my favorite restaurant, one of the first spots I took my (now) husband to. We were struggling to find a venue that felt "us," until one night we walked past Bacchus and saw a wedding was taking place in the beautiful back garden. My then-fiancé and I had the same thought at the same time, so we did our research and set up time with Meryl. We immediately knew we'd be in good hands. The entire Bacchus team is wonderful -- friendly, accommodating and responsive. They have you do your tasting BEFORE you sign the contract - because they are one of the few venues that take pride in their food. Tom and I had eaten so many lackluster wedding meals, so this was important to us and they delivered. Countless guests told us it was the best wedding meal they've ever had. The location was beautiful -- allowing us to have our dream "backyard wedding in Brooklyn". It glows with fairy lights and the gorgeous tree that's the focal point of the garden. We were able to comfortably fit all 120 of our guests in the 2 adjacent gardens for both the seated ceremony and dinner. Then we migrated into the restaurant for our reception/dance party. Bacchus let us stay dancing until 1am! It really was the perfect night, made so special because of the Bacchus staff. If you want proof of the staff's excellence, ask to borrow my wedding videos -- subtly in the background, you'll see Meryl and Alvaro swooping in to ensure our day was perfect: fluffing the train on my dress as I walked by, adjusting a tree branch to not interfere with our best man's head, keeping the wine glasses full.
