    Barboursville Perfection

Recently married at Barboursville Vineyard Ruins... what a setting! The Ruins are the preserved remains of a Mansion designed by Thomas Jefferson and built for Gov. James Barbour back in 1804 (or thereabouts). The Ruins create a STUNNING venue, and the staff at the winery went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was perfect! A shoutout to Ginger the 1804 Innkeeper (we stayed at the Inn right next to the Ruins) and Katie the wedding coordinator at the Vineyard, who went above and beyond with every detail we requested. The Chef and dinner/event staff at the Palladio Restaurant located at the Vineyard, were exceptional! I would highly recommend this venue to everyone looking to find that special place for their wedding.

Barboursville Winery was the perfect venue for my son and daughter-in-law's Rehearsal Dinner for 73 guests. Prior to the event, the banquest manager was helpful, friendly and eager to accomodate our requests. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food and wine pairings were fabulous. The room's decor was perfect. I would give Barboursville an A+++ for a wonderful evening which will always be remembered.

This venue blew the socks off of my family. We had our wedding towards the end of October and it was absolutely gorgeous. We had the ceremony at the 1804 inn garden, amazing to see your families in a circle around you, and the reception in the Arcades/Museum room. Tracy, the venue coordinator, was on point with helping me get organized and was very responsive when asking her DOZENS of questions. I did not use a wedding planner so was scrambling the day of. Tracy was very helpful and getting things set up and helping me take deep breaths. I was incredibly impressed when I walking in to the venue after the ceremony and the tasting room had been transformed. It was gorogeous! All of my guests were completely impressed, something hard to do with this group. I was suprised by how many guests exclaimed that this was the best wedding they had ever been to. Thank you Barboursville! I can't wait to return and reminisce.

I am a wedding planner in the Charlottesville area and I had the opportunity to work with Barboursville Vineyard for a wedding on September 1, 2012. The event and catering staff at Barboursville Vineyard is exceptional and they are one of the most professional, pleasant, and competent vendors I have ever worked with in my 6 years of event planning experience. The events coordinator, Tracy, went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly from answering hundreds of questions before the wedding took place to attending to the many details of the wedding day. The food served was by far the best food I have ever tasted at a wedding reception and the venue itself is beautiful and well-maintained. It was a pleasure working at Barboursville Vineyard and I look forward to recommending it to my future clients.

We had our wedding at Barboursville Vineyards and it was amazing! Our ceremony was held at the ruins and our reception was indoors at the winery. Dinner was served by the Palladio Restaurant. We had eaten by ourselves at the Palladio and the service has alwasy been amazing. I believe one of our servers from that day ended up being one of our bartenders at the wedding. The food is excellent, people are still talking about it. The view from the room where dinner is served is stunning.

My only hitch is that the onsite event coordinator changed during the wedding planning phase, about a month or two away from our wedding and it was frustrating trying to get an accurate response during that time. However, in the end, the wedding was perfect.

You have to order your own linens and chairs for the ceremony, but that is easily done through Festive Fare.

Our guests are still talking about our amazing ceremony(at the Historic Barboursville Ruins), and our dinner reception at the winery. The winery is a magical place, as we also stayed at the 1804 Inn, on the property. All of our encounters with the staff, were professional and personal. Chef Melissa Close is incredible, and is a true joy to work with. She took care of all the details for our "family style dinner", and the food/wine/service all far exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights of our planning process, was the tasting, several months before the wedding. There is an old-world charm about Barboursville....a natural beauty in it's location, coupled with the italian-inspired food, made for a very memorable wedding celebration.

The venue is absolutely stunning. We knew we wanted to get married at a vineyard in the Charlottesville area, and Barboursville is a blend of historic charm and quality wine production. We had our ceremony at the ruins and our reception inside. All turned out well, but the Events Coordinator currently employed at Barboursville is not responsive or professional. Their email was down for ten days up until the week before the wedding, and the Coordinator called me, the bride, an hour before the ceremony about a detail she had failed to bring to our attention. If you choose Barboursville, work with more than one person.
