We had a great time at our reception and I thought the whole event turned out great! I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
The reason I rated a few categories 4.5/5 was a few minor glitches. At the end of the night, the hotel was suppose to take our cake/cupcakes and refrigerate them for us to grab in the morning. My dad ended up taking the 8'' round up to his room to refrigerate and the hotel never grabbed the leftover cupcakes... possibly they got confused because someone had taken the cake? Also, one of the security guards were very quick to rush us out of the room when our event ended, almost rude about it.We had a great time at our reception and I thought the whole event turned out great! We paid a little extra for a plated dinner, but everyone loved their meals. I heard the buffet doesn't always come out great there, you get what you pay for. I had my wedding coordinator quit on me a month before which freaked me out, but it all came out perfect. They threw in free hot hors' devours for my inconvenice. They altered my bar package pricing a little when I asked to remove a few of the liquors offered. I was nervous it wasn't going to be a great reception, but it turned out to be fantastic! It's hard to find somewhere local in this area to have a great reception, but I had a great experience. Our wedding was great! I just wish that there weren't two other weddings at the same time. It made it hard for our guests to get rooms. Also, we didn't get all of our cake back like I had hoped. I'm not sure where to start with Timber creek. I was very disappointed in my service, the lack of communication between staff, and my experience overall. My wedding planner assigned to me seemed very disorganized and inexperienced. Most things I told her a previous meetings she had forgotten by the next meeting. The day before my wedding, my mom, my fiancé and myself were the one rolling out the tables, putting tables cloths on them, assisting setting up the dance floor, etc because NOTHING was set up. We left our favors and all accessories with my wedding planner with the promise she would do it that afternoon. The morning of our wedding, still nothing was done. My husbands aunt had to help set up the head table and display the flavors and organize my gift table, all things my planner said she would do. At the reception, the staff not only had to be asked to take my cake off the dance floor with the table (AFTER dancing had begun). They served the main course 45 minutes after the salad (WAY to small) had been served and my maid of honor had to ask for the meal to be served. Meanwhile, my wedding planner was in the hotel bar taking shots and drinking heavily with her girlfriends. Their response to my complaints was to leave the bar open an extra half hour. I really don't have a good think to say about this venue. Luckily, I had great family support to lean on otherwise setting up THEIR tables and THEIR dance floor would have been my responsibility.
