    Amazing and creative photographer

    Betsi is an absolute gem! Her positive energy and smile light up every room she enters. My husband and I had a couples shoot with Betsi. He is not super comfortable front of the camera. She eased him into every photo and pose, making jokes along the way to bring out his genuine laugh. Our shoot was in New York and honestly it was such a great experience exploring the city with her, trusting her vision while she led us to some very beautiful photo locations. She has a keen eye for details and isn’t afraid to push the envelope creatively. Her photos are light and airy with an artistic and creative edge. We got our photos back within 2 weeks and are so very happy with them. They perfectly represent us as a couple and I’ll never be able to thank her for these memories. Run to book her!

    Gurney's Montauk Wedding - June 4, 2022

    Betsi and her team did a phenomenal job photographing our wedding.

    We recently got our pictures back and let us say…WOW. They are incredible! She captured so many wonderful moments throughout our wedding weekend. Every picture captured the right light, the best angles, and all the positivity of our wedding. Her creative abilities made everything look so natural and so warm. She has fantastic attention to detail and a calming energy. Betsi was responsive and very easy to work with leading up to our wedding day. Everything was perfect and we couldn't be happier.

    The Best of the Best!

    A VERY long over due review of the person who captured our perfect day. After 3 years of planning and multiple covid related delays we were finally able to have our wedding day at Gurney's Resort in Montauk, New York. Betsi was an absolute pleasure to work with especially given our multiple delays and change of dates. Along with Besti came Sasha who was just as warm and kind as Betsi. It ended up raining on our wedding day but we were still able to capture beautiful shots all around the resort. Betsi and Sasha made sure to get any and all shots we wanted with family, friends and most importantly our pups. The amount of detail shots and candid shots taken throughout the night were really special to look back on because it reminded us of all the love we felt all night. I would absolutely book Betsi for you wedding especially if you are getting married in Montauk, New York- there is no one else able to capture the beauty of this place !

    Betsi is amazing! Hire hire hire

    Betsi was AMAZING! She captured everything we were hoping for -- the photos were candid and truly showed our personalities in every way. Betsi has a welcoming demeanor, does expert work, and has fantastic attention to detail. We seriously cannot thank Betsi enough for simply being her and making our day so special.

    The Best Photographer

    I hired Betsi for my Wedding in Joshua Tree, Ca. She was so easy to work with and took the best photos. She was great on giving me direction with posing so I wasn't just awkwardly standing there! She was also great when working with the whole family including my dog. She made sure to capture all the little details of the wedding and got a lot of great candid moments! Overall she is great at what she does and is a presence to have around on your wedding day!

    The most amazing experience

    FLOORED is the term I would use to use for Betsi and her team. Absolutely FLOORED. My husband and I worked with Betsi for our fusion/multi-cultural wedding and she handled it it such a beautiful and personal way including all the tiny little details that were so important to my family. From the pure artistic talent to her calming demeanor we could not have asked for more from a photographer/videographer. The pictures looked stunning. We just received the videos and have been watching it nonstop. We cannot wait to work with Betsi again!!

    Let me begin by saying how much of a pleasure it was to work with Betsi. Besides being a raw talent and extremely professional, she is a joy to be around, generous with her time, and is just an all around beautiful human being. Betsi photographed us for our engagement shoot and wedding photos. She really captured our spirit as a couple and her photos bring out the emotion that you can only hope a picture can capture during such moments. The same goes for the talented people she works with. Daniel Orren collaborated with Betsi to shoot our wedding highlight video and a gorgeous moonlight photo which left us speechless. Betsi is really passionate about what she does...it was clear to us once we started working with her that she really put her heart into it.     Betsi is fantastic! She is a complete breeze to work with, very professional but also very down-to-earth and good-natured. Betsi and her team are all extremely talented and genuine people. She is really quick to respond to any questions (via email, text, and phone) and very open, communicative and thorough. Betsi was already booked for our wedding day but she traveled to San Diego to take our engagement photos and arranged for two very talented ladies on her team to shoot photography and videography for the day-of. I hadn't met her girls, Sarah (photographer) and Jennifer (videographer) until the day-of but Betsi reassured me that they were the best fit for our personalities and style. Both Sarah and Jennifer were amazing to work with and they captured the day beautifully.

    Betsi did the editing for our photos and video. I really appreciated how she sent us several sneak peek photographs just days after the wedding. We got married on June 18, and she sent us our photos less than 1 month later and our video a week after that.. such great turnaround for the quality of work and level of service provided.

    Betsi is not only incredibly talented and creative, but this gal is a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with! She did our engagement photos, wedding photos, and we will someday work together again for maternity and family photos (we love her).

    We booked her a year in advance for our wedding in Temecula, CA - August 2015. She did an amazing job, check our her website and instagram @betsiewing, you'll be obsessed!

    She captured all the details, candid moments, as well as styled moments. We highly recommend her, thank you again and again Betsi for the beautiful still memories.

    Betsi was actually the first and only photographer I met with -- I immediately felt at ease with her and her photos were absolutely gorgeous. She's such a doll and so incredibly fun to be around, which is important for your wedding day! She and her assistant captured some absolutely breathtaking "first look" photos of my husband and me, lovely photos of the entire wedding party, cute candids, and some gorgeous scenic photos near our venue in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The photos from the ceremony are beautiful, and she just captured the whole day and evening perfectly. Could not possibly recommend her more! :)

    We are so happy we worked with Betsi on our big day. She is lovely to have around, has great, unique ideas, and does a beautiful job. She has a quick turnaround too - we got Part 1 of our pics exactly 1 month to the day of our wedding.

    Betsi is an amazing photographer! She was extremely professional from the first phone call through to the follow up after the wedding.

    Her wedding packages are a bargain for the amount of time and effort she puts into prepping and shooting!

    I would recommend her to anybody looking for an amazing photographer. Although she is located in Brooklyn, NY she traveled to my Bay Area wedding!

    I do not recommend this vendor

    I strongly recommend avoiding Betsi Ewing for wedding photography. We hired Betsi for our 2022 wedding and were deeply disappointed in her communication, the images she delivered, and her conduct as we attempted to resolve the issues with our photos.

    There were several red flags leading up to our wedding including the fact that we could never get Betsi to confirm a single planning call with us and this lack of professionalism carried over to our experience attempting to resolve our dissatisfaction with the photos. Had we been able to have a call, it is likely we would have decided to add a second shooter or more time to our package to make sure we had enough of a package to meet our expectations.

    Our photos reflect a total lack of attention to detail including whether or not people's eyes are open, if men had buttoned or unbuttoned their jackets appropriately for seated or standing portraits, if groups of people were centered in the frame for posed portraits, etc. There was also a complete lack of color correction and many images are overexposed with the exception of flash photos taken after dark, which ironically have the best color of any photos delivered.

    On the day of our wedding, I specifically asked Betsi not to take photos of my dress on a hanger, she spent a lot of time doing so despite my request. Additionally, I asked more than once that we move more quickly through the bridal “getting ready” images as I felt anxious that my husband and his family were waiting on us as we were not following my timeline. Betsi responded to this by saying something like “nothing starts until the Bride is ready.” This only made me more anxious as I feel strongly that a wedding is about the bride AND groom AND their families.

    To resolve, we asked Betsi to please send us family photos where everyone's eyes were open and to look for a photo of my husband and two male friends (not his groomsmen) from the reception that all three men distinctly remember her taking and to please also sincerely apologize to us for the impact of her choices on the documentation of our wedding. While we did receive our contracted amount of photos, which was 300+, and were happy with the quantity, we were not happy with the content, quality, and editing (both color correction and selection) of the images. Betsi did say she was sorry we didn’t love our photos, but our request for an apology that acknowledged these shortcomings and their impact on us was not met. Nor did Betsi provide the missing photo of my husband and his friends at the reception. This was the ONE photo of my husband posing with friends at the reception that was shot, so we now have NONE.

    Betsi consistently emphasized that she has "been a photographer all her life" and that she and her team "objectively curate the very best photos." Requests for an apology only made her more defensive, so we requested and received a partial refund and printed the one truly fabulous photo of us on our wedding day, that my husband's uncle shot on his iPhone.

    After posting my original version of this review on February 27, 2023 I received an email from Betsi on February 28, 2023 claiming that she reported myself and my husband to LAPD for harassment. We have not been in direct contact with Betsi since September 2, 2022 when she agreed to issue the partial refund as we consider the situation resolved.
